Job Title: Design Engineer SPM (Special Purpose Machines) & Factory Automation

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Design Engineer with 2 years of experience in Special Purpose Machines (SPM) and Factory Automation. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting automation equipment, machine assemblies, and manufacturing solutions from concept through commissioning. The ideal candidate should have strong 3D CAD skills, knowledge of manufacturing processes, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop SPMs, jigs, fixtures, and factory automation equipment based on customer requirements.
- Create 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and assembly drawings using CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
- Develop machine concepts considering functionality, manufacturability, safety, cost, and ease of maintenance.
- Select standard mechanical components such as linear guides, bearings, actuators, motors, gearboxes, sensors, and pneumatic/hydraulic components.
- Perform design calculations for mechanisms, shafts, bearings, cylinders, and structural members.
- Coordinate with electrical, controls, manufacturing, procurement, and assembly teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support machine assembly, debugging, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Resolve design issues identified during manufacturing and customer trials.
- Prepare technical documentation, design reports, and engineering change requests (ECR/ECO).
- Ensure designs comply with customer specifications, industry standards, and machine safety requirements.




- Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2 years of experience in SPM design and factory automation.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as PTC Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, or Solid Edge.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly.
- Knowledge of GD&T;, engineering drawings, tolerances, and fits.
- Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Understanding of machine elements and standard mechanical components.
- Ability to create detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings.
- Positive problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in assembly line automation.
- Knowledge of servo systems, robotics, and motion control.
- Familiarity with industrial standards and machine safety (ISO 12100, CE, etc.).
- Basic understanding of PLCs, sensors, and industrial automation.
- Experience with BOM management and engineering documentation.
