Rayvector Technologies builds precision vision systems and automation platforms deployed in demanding semiconductor and industrial environments. We are looking for a mid-level QA Engineer with hands-on experience validating embedded software, camera and vision system integrations, and complex protocol-level communications.
This role sits at the intersection of hardware-aware software testing and system integration validation. You will own test strategy, execution, and defect lifecycle management across multiple subsystems — working closely with embedded software engineers, system architects, and the program management team.
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Strategy
- Design and maintain test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices covering functional, integration, regression, and boundary testing
- Define test coverage for embedded software features, hardware-software interfaces, and system-level workflows
- Participate in design and requirement reviews to identify testability gaps early in the development cycle
Camera & Vision Systems Testing
- Validate camera initialization, configuration, frame acquisition, and image quality parameters against defined specifications
- Test vision system pipelines including exposure control, focus calibration, and image capture consistency across varying conditions
- Verify correctness of OpenCV-based processing outputs — stitching, alignment, and defect detection results
- Execute hardware-in-the-loop tests involving camera modules, light controllers, and embedded compute platforms
Software & API Testing
- Validate REST API contracts — request/response correctness, error handling, edge cases, and performance under load
- Test Angular-based frontend interfaces for functional correctness, state management,
and integration with backend services
- Build and maintain automated test suites using Python or equivalent scripting for API and regression coverage
- Perform negative testing, boundary analysis, and stress testing on system services
System Integration & Protocol Validation
- Validate SECS/GEM communication flows — host-equipment message sequences, event reporting, and alarm handling per SEMI standards
- Test RTSP/WebRTC streaming pipelines for latency, stability, and frame integrity under real-world network conditions
- Verify end-to-end integration across subsystems: EFEM robot control, camera services, light controllers, and the REST API layer
- Reproduce and isolate defects at the system integration level; work with engineers to root-cause and verify fixes
Defect Management & Reporting
- Log, triage, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, severity classification, and supporting logs or captures
- Prepare test summary reports, release sign-off documentation, and quality metrics for program review meetings
- Maintain test environments and manage test data for repeatable, deterministic execution
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have
- B.Tech in ECE, CS, EE, or a related engineering discipline
- 2–4 years of QA/testing experience in embedded software or systems engineering environments
- Hands-on experience testing REST APIs — using tools such as Postman, cURL, or custom scripts
- Working knowledge of Linux-based environments; comfortable with CLI, log analysis, and shell scripting
- Experience with Python for test automation or test tooling
- Strong analytical thinking — able to break down complex system interactions into discrete, verifiable test scenarios
- Familiarity with defect tracking and project management tools (Zoho, Jira, or equivalent)
Good to Have
- Exposure to SECS/GEM protocols or SEMI standards for semiconductor equipment communication
- Experience testing video streaming protocols — RTSP, WebRTC, or GStreamer pipelines
- Familiarity with camera SDKs, GenICam/GigE Vision, or OpenCV-based image processing
- Experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms or ARM-based embedded Linux systems
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build workflows
- Exposure to air-gapped or offline deployment environments
Technology Stack You’ll Test
- Embedded compute: NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin, Orin NX (JetPack 6.x, ARM64)
- Vision systems: camera modules, light controllers, OpenCV image processing pipelines
- Backend: C++ REST API services, Angular frontend
- Protocols: SECS/GEM (SEMI E5/E30/E37), RTSP, WebRTC
- Integration: EFEM robot interfaces, multi-subsystem orchestration
- OS / Workplace: Ubuntu Linux, air-gapped deployment setups
What We Offer
- Deep technical exposure to vision systems and semiconductor automation — a rare combination in QA roles
- Direct collaboration with embedded engineers and system architects on complex, high-stakes products
- A quality-first engineering culture where QA is a first-class function, not an afterthought
- Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
