If you have real, attributable code in public repositories, this is a well-paid way to use that experience part time from anywhere.

The short version A remote contract, around 15 hours a week, weekends fine, paid hourly at a three-figure rate (from $100/hour). The job is to create, solve and grade demanding software-engineering tasks that are used to train and test AI systems that write code.

The work

Expect to spend your time inside repositories you have never seen before: figuring out how they are put together, following data through services, libraries and databases, reproducing bugs, fixing them in a way the maintainers would merge, and writing the tests to prove it. Some tasks ask you to port a complete implementation from one language to another. Others ask you to judge whether a machine-generated patch is correct, complete, secure and something you would accept in review.





Who we are looking for The single hard requirement is a public code portfolio (GitHub or similar) showing substantial code you wrote or maintain in open-source projects. Docs-only, formatting and dependency-bump contributions do not count. Beyond that:

- Strong engineering in at least one substantial area (frontend, backend, systems, infra, developer tooling, etc.)
- Fluency in several languages; common ones on this project are TypeScript, Python, Go, Rust, Java, C#, C++ and Ruby
- You write proper automated tests, from unit to end-to-end
- You are comfortable reviewing code written by people and by machines

Terms

Independent contractor, hourly ($100+/hr), fewer than 20 hours a week, remote. Work is in English.
