About the Opportunity

Woodfrog is hiring a Senior Software Engineer – NLP/LLM Reasoning for a client building advanced reasoning models for enterprise applications using Large Language Models (LLMs).

You will work at the intersection of NLP research, LLMs, reasoning systems, and production engineering , contributing to the development and refinement of models designed for enterprise-level reasoning tasks.

This is a high-growth deep-tech startup workplace requiring strong technical ownership, research-oriented thinking, and the ability to build production-quality systems.

About the Role

You will play a key role in developing and refining foundational models and reasoning systems for enterprise use cases.

The role involves hands-on work across both research and engineering, including exploring new NLP and reasoning approaches, implementing research ideas, improving model performance, and maintaining clean and scalable production code.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and refine foundational models for enterprise reasoning tasks.
- Research and implement new NLP, LLM, and reasoning paradigms .
- Translate research findings and ideas into production-ready systems.
- Build, optimize, and maintain high-quality Python codebases.
- Work with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow for model development and experimentation.
- Analyze and troubleshoot complex model-performance and engineering issues.




- Collaborate with engineering and research teams to define and execute technical requirements.
- Stay current with developments in NLP, LLMs, reasoning models, and AI research .

Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, or a related field .
- Strong hands-on experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) .
- Proven experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) .
- Experience with reasoning models or reasoning paradigms .
- Strong programming skills in Python .
- Hands-on experience with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow .
- Strong understanding of NLP/LLM concepts and model development.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-ownership startup environment.
- Candidates who can join immediately or within 30 days are preferred.

Important Screening Criteria

This is not a generic GenAI/RAG role.

Candidates should demonstrate relevant hands-on experience in:

- NLP
- LLMs
- Reasoning models / reasoning paradigms
- Python
- PyTorch and/or TensorFlow
- Experience limited primarily to generic GenAI applications, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, or API-based LLM integration should not by itself be considered sufficient for this role.
