About The Role We are seeking experienced software engineers at the tech lead level to join our cutting-edge team working on large language model (LLM) evaluation and training datasets. This role involves hands-on software engineering tasks such as automating development environments, triaging issues, and assessing test coverage and quality in open-source repositories.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of high-quality public GitHub repositories and be capable of contributing to the development of datasets that enable LLMs to solve realistic software engineering problems. You will work closely with research teams to design challenging tasks, evaluate model performance, and lead efforts to improve our datasets’ coverage and robustness. This role offers a unique prospect to influence the future of AI-assisted software development by combining practical engineering skills with cutting-edge research initiatives.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with strong proficiency in at least one programming language such as Ruby. They should have a solid understanding of version control systems like Git, containerization tools such as Docker, and experience setting up and managing software pipelines.

Familiarity with navigating complex codebases, running, modifying,



and testing real-world projects locally is essential. Candidates with a background in contributing to or evaluating open-source projects will have an added advantage. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting are also required.

Responsibilities

- Analyze and triage issues across trending open-source repositories on GitHub to identify challenging tasks for LLMs.
- Set up and configure software repositories, including Dockerization and environment setup, to facilitate testing and evaluation.
- Assess unit test coverage and quality, providing insights to improve dataset robustness.
- Modify and run codebases locally to evaluate LLM performance in bug-fixing and other software engineering scenarios.
- Collaborate with research teams to identify repositories and issues that can serve as valuable datasets for LLM training.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering a cooperative environment to achieve project goals efficiently.
