Software Engineer Development & Application Support

Job Summary

We are looking for a Software Engineer with around 3 years of hands-on software development experience who can contribute to both application development and production support.

The candidate should have practical experience with Python, PostgreSQL, React.js, Node.js, GitHub, Postman, and GCP, along with good debugging and problem-solving skills. The role involves developing new features, fixing defects, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with QA, DevOps, Product, and Business teams.

Experience in the Healthcare domain, familiarity with Jira, and knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development

- Develop, enhance, and maintain web applications using Python, Node.js, and React.js.
- Develop and integrate REST APIs and troubleshoot API-related issues using Postman.
- Work with PostgreSQL for database queries, data validation, and troubleshooting.
- Fix application defects and implement enhancements based on business requirements.
- Participate in code reviews and follow development and coding best practices.
- Use GitHub/Git for source control, branching, pull requests, and code collaboration.
- Write maintainable, scalable, and well-tested code.

Production & Application Support

- Provide L2 application support during the assigned shift.
- Monitor and troubleshoot application issues reported by users or business teams.
- Investigate issues across the frontend, backend, APIs, database, and cloud workplace.




- Analyze application logs and error messages to identify root causes.
- Resolve production incidents within defined SLAs.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring or critical issues.
- Coordinate with QA, DevOps, Product, and other engineering teams for issue resolution.
- Validate fixes and support production deployments and post-release verification.
- Maintain documentation for recurring issues, resolutions, and troubleshooting procedures.

GCP & Technical Support

- Work with applications hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Use GCP logs and available monitoring tools to troubleshoot application issues.
- Support application deployments and production troubleshooting in GCP environments.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams for configuration and deployment-related activities.

Agile & Team Collaboration

- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Track development and support activities using Jira.
- Work closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and business teams.
- Provide technical estimates for assigned development tasks.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and production issues through resolution.

Required Skills

- 3+ years of software development experience.
- Hands-on experience with Python.
- Good working knowledge of Node.js.
- Good working knowledge of React.js.




- Strong understanding of PostgreSQL and SQL.
- Experience with REST APIs and API troubleshooting.
- Experience using Postman for API testing.
- Good knowledge of Git/GitHub.
- Working knowledge of GCP.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and production support.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in US Healthcare / Healthcare IT applications.
- Familiarity with healthcare workflows and systems.
- Experience with Jira.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Previous experience in L2 production/application support.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and cloud deployment processes.
- Experience with application monitoring, logging, and incident troubleshooting.
