About the Role

We're hiring a small number of senior engineers who can take a business problem and deliver a shipped, running system. You'll own a domain end to end (claims, wallet, subscriptions, provider network, or payments), including its design, release, failures, cost, and long-term maintainability. Java and Spring Boot are the core, but you'll also write Node services, ship React screens, and run your own Kubernetes deployments and Kafka consumers.

What You'll Do

- Own the high-level and low-level design of your domain, and get both reviewed before building
- Build and maintain Java services and stable APIs that other teams depend on
- Get money and health data right: correct, traceable, and safe to retry
- Run your services in production, with dashboards, alerts, and on-call ownership
- Debug hard, intermittent issues and fix root causes
- Set technical direction, review code, and mentor other engineers
- Use AI tools (Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) daily, while reading and owning every line you ship





What We're Looking For

Must have

- 6+ years of professional development, mostly in Java (8+, ideally 17+) and Spring Boot
- Production Node.js and working React
- System design experience, both HLD and LLD
- Kafka or similar event-driven systems in production
- Kubernetes and containers
- SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and MongoDB, including query tuning
- Observability set up by you (Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, ELK)
- Extensive daily AI use in your workflow
- Prior experience as owner and on-call for a system you built

Nice to have

- Led a multi-team project or measurably improved a system's reliability, latency, or cost
- Run an incident end to end and written the postmortem
- Mentoring experience
- TypeScript, React Native, or LLM API experience
- Payments/fintech or health insurance domain exposure
- Experience with regulated or sensitive data
