Job Definition A Software Asset management expert is responsible for managing, monitoring, and ensuring compliance with software licensing agreements within an organization. This role involves interpreting license terms, tracking software usage, and acting as a point of contact for software assets. Software asset management experts work closely with license managers, procurement, IT, and legal teams to optimize costs, usage and minimize risks associated with software assets.

Core Tasks of Software Asset Management

- Software Inventory Management: Maintain a comprehensive and accurate inventory of all software assets and licenses owned or used by the BENTELER GROUP.
- License Compliance: Ensure that all software usage complies with vendor agreements and legal requirements, preventing overuse or incompliance situations.
- License Optimization: Analyze software usage data to identify opportunities for cost savings, such as eliminating unused licenses or consolidating agreements.
- Software Reseller Management: Cooperate with Resellers on active agreement renewals, license prolongations and procurement processes.




- License Pool Management: Review current pool size, monitor the license capacity and initiate refill activities.
- License Reporting: Generate regular reports on license usage and compliance status.
- Monitoring Usage & Consumption: Track and analyze software usage, subscription consumption, and identify unused licenses and incompliant installation counts.
- End-User Support and incident handling: Provide guidance to employees on software usage on a non-technical level. Solve problems related to user incidents in a working scope.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with COE SAM, other IT groups, IT security, IT procurement, and business units for consistent license governance.
- Governance & Compliance Framework: Establish governance structures such as compliance checks, dashboards, KPIs, and internal communication.

Required Qualification:

- Education Qualification Full time graduate with B.E/ B.Tech or equivalent Degree.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT Asset Management.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Software asset management.
