Role Description The Software Asset Management Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. This role involves conducting software asset and licensing assessments for client organizations, including collecting and validating inventory data, reviewing audit tool outputs, and analyzing licensing positions.

The consultant will interpret licensing terms, identify compliance gaps and financial risks, and prepare explicit, structured reports with actionable remediation recommendations.



Day-to-day activities include meeting with client stakeholders, explaining findings, advising on optimization of software assets, and coordinating with partners for license procurement where needed. The role also requires maintaining documentation, staying current on major software publishers’ licensing rules, and supporting internal process improvements for audit and consulting methodologies.

Qualifications

- Strong analytical skills to interpret software inventory data, licensing terms, and compliance risks.
- Management consulting and consulting experience, with the ability to advise clients and present structured recommendations.
- Hands-on experience in IT Asset Management and software asset management, including inventory, lifecycle tracking, and optimization.
- Experience in asset management for technology or related domains, with a focus on governance and cost control.
- Familiarity with software licensing models from major vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle) is highly beneficial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client reports and stakeholder discussions.
- Ability to work on-site with client teams in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and travel within India as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
