Job Title: Storage & Backup Administrator -Site Reliability Engineer 2

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka

What you will do:

- Administer and manage enterprise SAN, NAS, and storage systems in a production environment.
- Manage storage provisioning, LUNs, volumes, file systems, storage pools, snapshots, replication, and capacity allocation.
- Configure and manage FC, iSCSI, NFS, and SMB/CIFS storage environments.
- Perform storage capacity planning, performance monitoring, and optimization.
- Troubleshoot storage connectivity, performance, latency, and availability issues.
- Manage storage multipathing and SAN fabric connectivity.
- Implement and maintain storage replication and disaster recovery solutions.
- Perform firmware upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management of storage infrastructure.
- Maintain storage documentation, architecture diagrams, configuration records, and operational procedures.
- Administer enterprise backup and recovery infrastructure.
- Configure and manage backup policies, schedules, retention, and backup jobs.
- Monitor backup jobs and proactively troubleshoot backup failures.
- Perform regular restore and recovery operations and validate backup integrity.
- Design and maintain backup strategies aligned with RPO and RTO requirements.
- Implement and manage backup copies, replication, and off-site/secondary backup.
- Support application, database, VM, file-system, and physical-server backups.
- Manage backup capacity and identify future capacity requirements.
- Troubleshoot backup performance, network, storage, and agent-related issues.
- Support and maintain enterprise DR infrastructure and procedures.
- Participate in DR drills and failover/failback activities.
- Identify gaps in backup and DR coverage and recommend improvements.
- Monitor storage and backup infrastructure 24x7 or as part of an on-call rotation.
- Analyze alerts, incidents, logs, and performance metrics.




- Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Perform root-cause analysis for recurring storage and backup issues.
- Maintain operational dashboards and regular health/capacity reports.
- Automate repetitive administration and reporting tasks using PowerShell, Python, Shell scripting, or vendor APIs.
- Identify opportunities to improve backup success rates, storage utilization, operational efficiency, and recovery processes.
- Develop scripts/tools for health checks, monitoring, reporting, and operational automation.

Who you are:

- A seasoned IT professional with 4+ years of experience in NetApp storage platforms with strong knowledge of enterprise storage concepts SAN / NAS
- Robust understanding of FC, iSCSI, NFS, and SMB/CIFS.
- Knowledge of SAN zoning and multipathing.
- Experience with cloud backup and storage, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of object storage / S3.
- Experience with immutable backups, air-gapped backups, and ransomware protection.
- Understanding the 3-2-1 backup strategy.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements related to backup infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with backup tools: Commvault, Rubrik
- Good understanding of backup types, retention policies, media management, backup catalogs, and restore procedures.
- Experience with VM backup, particularly VMware environments.
- Good knowledge of Linux and Windows Server.
- Basic understanding of databases and application-consistent backups.
