Role Description The Shift Manager role at THIRDWAVE COFFEE is a full time, on-site position based in Bengaluru.

The Shift

Manager oversees daily café operations during assigned shifts, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and monitoring inventory levels. This role coordinates and supports baristas and other team members, ensuring consistent beverage quality, timely service, and adherence to hygiene and safety standards.

Manager responds to guest queries and feedback, resolves on-the-spot issues, and maintains a welcoming atmosphere.



The role also includes training support for new team members, tracking shift performance metrics, and communicating operational updates to leadership.

Qualifications

- Experience in café, restaurant, or retail operations, with responsibility for supervising shifts or small teams.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to address guest needs calmly and professionally.
- Comfort with cash handling, basic POS systems, and routine reporting of sales or shift-related data.
- Ability to maintain quality and cleanliness standards, including food safety and workplace hygiene practices.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and support team members.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when managing multiple tasks during busy periods.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Previous experience in coffee or food and beverage service is preferred; familiarity with specialty coffee is an advantage.
- Basic problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving guest experience and operational efficiency.
