Role & responsibilities

A. Shift Production & Operations

- Monitor battery charging operations as per approved process parameters and production plan.
- Ensure availability and proper utilization of batteries, charging equipment utilities, manpower, and other required resources.
- Monitor charging cycles, charging time, current/voltage parameters and other critical process conditions.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within the planned shift.
- Coordinate with the Production Planning team regarding battery availability and charging requirements.
- Identify production bottlenecks and immediately escalate issues to the concerned department.

B. Process & Quality Control

- Ensure charging is carried out strictly as per approved SOP, work instructions and process parameters.
- Monitor abnormal charging conditions and take immediate corrective action within defined authority.
- Ensure proper identification, segregation and handling of rejected batteries.
- Coordinate with Quality/Technical teams for batteries having charging-related abnormalities.
- Maintain process discipline and ensure that no battery is released without required checks.

C. Manpower Management

- Allocate manpower according to the shift production requirement.
- Conduct shift-start briefing regarding production targets, safety requirements and specific operational issues.
- Report manpower shortages, absenteeism and performance-related issues to the concerned department.

D. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure strict compliance with plant safety rules, PPE requirements and battery charging safety procedures.
- Ensure operators use appropriate PPE such as safety shoes, gloves, goggles/face shields and other prescribed PPE.
- Monitor safe handling of acid/electrolyte and ensure compliance with chemical handling procedures.




- Ensure proper housekeeping and 5S within the charging area.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, near misses, incidents and equipment abnormalities.
- Ensure emergency equipment such as eyewash stations, safety showers, fire extinguishers and emergency exits remain accessible.
- Prevent unauthorized persons from entering restricted charging areas.

E. Equipment & Utility Monitoring

- Monitor the operational condition of chargers, cables, connectors and other associated equipment.
- Report equipment breakdowns and abnormalities to Maintenance immediately.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive/breakdown maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper isolation/LOTO procedures are followed wherever applicable.
- Monitor availability of electrical power, ventilation, water and other required utilities.

F. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain accurate shift production and charging records.
- Record battery-wise/lot-wise charging details as applicable.
- Maintain shift handover reports covering:

- Production achieved

- Pending batteries

- Equipment status

- Quality/rejection issues

- Manpower status

- Safety issues

- Maintenance/breakdown status

- Material shortages
- Prepare daily/shift production reports and submit them to the reporting manager.
- Ensure all records are accurate, timely and traceable.

4. Shift Handover Responsibilities At the end of each shift,



the Shift In-Charge shall ensure proper handover to the incoming Shift In-Charge, including:

- Current charging status
- Batteries under charging
- Pending charging quantity
- Abnormal/rejected batteries
- Equipment under breakdown/maintenance
- Safety or quality concerns
- Manpower status
- Material/utility shortages
- Any special instructions from management

5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Achievement of planned shift production
- Equipment utilization
- Battery rejection/abnormality rate
- Manpower utilization
- Compliance with SOP and process parameters
- Safety compliance and zero unsafe acts/conditions
- Housekeeping / 5S compliance
- Accuracy and timeliness of shift reports
- Reduction of process delays and downtime

Preferred candidate profile The candidate should demonstrate:

- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and industrial operations
- Basic understanding of battery charging principles
- Ability to read and follow SOPs and work instructions
- Basic computer skills, particularly MS Excel and SAP.
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work in rotational shifts
- Basic problem-solving and analytical ability
- Leadership capability and willingness to manage shop-floor manpower
- Strong safety awareness
- Ability to work under production pressure
- Disciplined and responsible
- Willingness to learn plant processes
- Strong safety mindset
- Proactive approach toward operational issues
