- Conduct theory and practical training as per the approved curriculum.
- Train candidates in industrial sewing machine operation and stitching techniques.
- Provide hands-on training on single needle lockstitch, overlock and other relevant machines.
- Train candidates in garment construction, fabric handling, cutting, measurement and finishing.
- Explain machine parts, threading, needle selection, thread tension and basic machine maintenance.
- Train candidates on quality standards, defect identification and rework procedures.
- Ensure proper machine handling, workplace safety, hygiene and 5S practices.
- Conduct practical demonstrations, tests and regular skill assessments.
- Maintain trainee attendance, assessment records, daily training reports and MIS documentation.
- Support candidates in developing workplace discipline and employability skills.
- Coordinate with the Centre Manager/Project Coordinator for smooth training delivery.
Candidate Requirements:
- ITI / Diploma / Graduation in Sewing, Apparel, Fashion Technology, Textile or relevant trade.
- Relevant experience in garment manufacturing, stitching or sewing machine operations.
- Strong practical knowledge of industrial sewing machines and garment stitching.
- Good communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to provide practical demonstrations and handle trainees from diverse backgrounds.
- Basic computer knowledge for reporting and documentation.
- ToT certification and experience in Skill Development projects will be preferred. Current AMHSSC-linked trainer requirements emphasize domain knowledge, industrial stitching experience, safety, hygiene and communication skills.
