Job Title: ServiceNow SAM Pro Specialist - Software Normalization

We are looking for a ServiceNow SAM Pro Specialist with strong hands-on experience in Software Asset Management and Software Discovery Model Normalization.

This is a specialist role focused on resolving software discovery normalization issues within ServiceNow SAM Pro, improving normalization coverage, and supporting accurate license reconciliation and Effective License Position (ELP).

Key Responsibilities

- Perform hands-on Discovery Model normalization within ServiceNow SAM Pro.
- Research and resolve Match Not Found discovery models.
- Normalize software across Publisher, Product, Edition and Version structures.
- Review and validate machine-learning normalization recommendations.
- Identify recurring normalization patterns and create/propose normalization and pattern rules to resolve records at scale.
- Use ServiceNow Content Service where publisher or product content is unavailable.
- Determine licensable vs. non-licensable software for accurate consumption reporting.
- Create and maintain software models and support license reconciliation.
- Work publisher-by-publisher to clear normalization backlogs and maintain throughput.
- Support Effective License Position (ELP) development and reporting.




- Identify discovery data-quality issues affecting software normalization.
- Support software licensing compliance, audits and renewal/true-up activities.
- Participate in testing and validation of SAM automation and content improvements.

Must-Have Skills

- 5+ years in Software Asset Management / Software Licensing.
- 2+ years hands-on ServiceNow SAM Pro experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Discovery Model Normalization.
- Experience resolving Match Not Found records.
- Experience with software normalization rules / pattern rules.
- Experience with ServiceNow Content Service.
- Strong understanding of publisher, product, edition and version normalization.
- Knowledge of software licensing, entitlements and license reconciliation.
- Understanding of Effective License Position (ELP).
- Ability to distinguish licensable and non-licensable software.
- Solid research and analytical skills for unresolved discovery records.

Preferred

- ServiceNow CSA / CIS-SAM certification.
- ServiceNow Discovery.
- SCCM/MECM or other software inventory sources.
- Publisher audit / true-up experience.
- Experience with ML-based software normalization.
- Experience with SAM automation and content enhancements.
