Role Description The Senior Veterinary Doctor is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for leading clinical care and setting high standards of medical practice within the clinic. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting thorough physical examinations, diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions, performing surgeries, overseeing diagnostics, and prescribing appropriate medications and treatment plans. The role also involves supervising junior veterinarians and support staff, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, and participating in case discussions and continuous medical education.

The Senior Veterinary

Doctor will regularly consult with pet parents, provide explicit guidance on preventive care and follow-up plans, and help maintain accurate medical records and compliance with regulatory requirements.



This position plays a key role in shaping the clinic’s medical quality, patient safety, and overall client experience.

Qualifications

- Advanced clinical expertise in small animal medicine, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and management of complex cases.
- Robust surgical skills in routine and advanced procedures, with sound knowledge of anesthesia, pain management, and post-operative care.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as laboratory testing, imaging (e.g., X-ray, ultrasound), and other investigative techniques.
- Ability to lead and mentor veterinary teams, coordinate with technicians and support staff, and promote a collaborative clinical environment.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining medical conditions and treatment plans to pet parents in clear, empathetic language.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and staying current with advances in veterinary medicine.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities, including maintaining accurate medical documentation and following clinic protocols.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (BVSc & AH or equivalent) from a recognized institution; advanced certifications or specializations are an advantage.
- Valid license/registration to practice veterinary medicine in India; prior experience in a busy clinical or hospital setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated passion for animal welfare, high ethical standards, and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or emergencies as needed.
