Job Summary

6 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally with full-stack or backend/systems depth. Strong proficiency in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, Java) and comfort picking up new stacks quickly Experience with APIs, data pipelines, and system integrations (REST/GraphQL, webhooks, ETL, message queues, etc.)

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development: Architect, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend and full-stack services, writing clean, testable code in one or more modern languages (Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, or Java).

API Engineering: Design, develop, and maintain robust REST and GraphQL APIs —including authentication/authorization, versioning, rate-limiting, and transparent documentation for internal and external consumers.

Data Pipelines & Integrations: Build and optimize data pipelines, ETL workflows, and system integrations (webhooks, message queues such as Kafka/RabbitMQ/SQS) to move data reliably across distributed and third-party systems.

Reliability & Quality: Ensure availability, scalability, and observability through monitoring, logging, and performance tuning, while championing best practices—code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and secure coding.





Collaboration & Ownership: Partner with product, design, and engineering peers to translate requirements into solutions, mentor junior engineers, and take end-to-end ownership of features from design through production.

Skill Requirements

Languages: Strong proficiency in at least one modern language (Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, or Java); quick to learn new stacks. APIs & Integrations: Hands-on with REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS). Data: Experience with data pipelines/ETL and both SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis). Cloud & DevOps: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and mentoring abilities with end-to-end ownership.

Other Requirements

Demonstrated ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast-changing environments with minimal spec

Strong communication skills — able to explain technical tradeoffs to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders

Comfort with direct customer interaction, including presenting, whiteboarding, and handling pushback gracefully

Bias toward action: willingness to write a script or spike a prototype rather than wait for a perfect plan
