Role Title: Senior Technical Writer

Role Overview:

The SRE Content Writer will create, maintain and improve technical documentation covering Site Reliability Engineering, cloud infrastructure, observability, incident management, automation and platform operations. The role partners with SRE, DevOps, platform and application teams to transform complex engineering knowledge into clear, accurate and actionable content that supports operational excellence, faster onboarding and consistent ways of working.

Role focus: Runbooks | SOPs | Knowledge Articles | Postmortems | Training Content | Reliability Practices

Key Responsibilities:

- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, standard operating procedures,



knowledge articles, troubleshooting guides and operational playbooks.
- Develop SRE-focused content covering cloud infrastructure, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD, observability and production operations.
- Document incident-management processes, root cause analyses, blameless postmortems, lessons learnt and reliability improvement actions.
- Work with engineers and subject-matter experts to capture system architecture, operating models, automation workflows and support procedures.
- Translate complex technical concepts into concise, usable content for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Establish documentation templates, writing standards, taxonomy, version-control practices and review cycles across teams.
- Create onboarding guides, quick-start materials, training content and knowledge-transfer assets for engineers and support teams.
- Maintain content in Confluence, SharePoint or comparable knowledge platforms and ensure that published information remains current and discoverable.
- Produce clear guidance on SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, MTTR, MTTD, monitoring, alerting and other reliability practices.
- Partner with application support teams and vendors to document support boundaries, escalation paths, SLAs and issue-resolution procedures.

Required Skills and Experience:

- 4+ years of experience in technical writing, technical content development, SRE, DevOps, infrastructure documentation or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to create high-quality runbooks,



SOPs, knowledge-based articles, process guides and training material.
- Strong understanding of SRE principles, production operations, incident management and service reliability.
- Working knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code concepts, including Terraform and Ansible.
- Content creator with AWS/ Azure/GCP & SRE DevOps experience must have.
- Experience in video scripts and technical documentation is must have.
- Familiarity with observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus or ELK.
- Excellent written communication, information-structuring, editing and stakeholder-interviewing skills.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, application-support and business teams.
- Experience with enterprise documentation platforms such as Confluence, SharePoint or similar tools.

Positive to Have:

- Hands-on exposure to SRE, DevOps, cloud operations or production support.
- Experience documenting CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, automation and self-healing workflows.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices covering Incident, Problem, Change and Knowledge Management.
- Experience using AI-assisted content-authoring, content-quality or knowledge-management tools.
- Ability to create or refine architecture diagrams, process flows and visual learning assets.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Certification or formal learning in Technical Writing, AWS, ITIL, SRE, DevOps or a related field.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud, platform or infrastructure environments.
- Understanding of security, compliance and documentation-governance requirements.

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Technical Communication or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
