Senior Software Engineer AWS & Python

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Python, AWS, DevOps, and cloud automation to design, develop, automate, and support scalable cloud-based solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong software engineering foundation combined with practical experience in AWS infrastructure, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automation, containerization, and production support. The role involves developing reusable automation, improving deployment processes, integrating automated testing, and supporting reliable cloud infrastructure and applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications, services, and automation solutions for cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain AWS cloud automation and infrastructure solutions using services such as EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, VPC, ELB, S3, and related AWS services.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, testing, deployment, and promotion across different environments.
- Develop infrastructure automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Build reusable automation solutions to improve deployment efficiency, reliability, and operational processes.
- Develop and integrate automated unit, integration, and infrastructure tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with development and infrastructure teams to identify opportunities for automation and continuously improve engineering processes.
- Develop and support microservices, APIs, and cloud-native applications where required.
- Work with containerized environments using Docker and related technologies.
- Monitor applications and infrastructure, analyze logs and system performance, and troubleshoot production issues.
- Identify potential reliability, performance, security, and scalability improvements and implement appropriate solutions.
- Follow software engineering best practices including version control, code reviews, documentation, testing, and secure coding practices.




- Participate in technical design, estimation, planning, and implementation of engineering initiatives.
- Collaborate with Architects, Developers, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders across teams and time zones.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to maintaining high standards of code quality and engineering practices.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, DevOps, cloud engineering, or a closely related role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python in a production engineering environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
- Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar.
- Strong experience with one or more Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Experience with Docker and containerization.
- Good understanding of software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and engineering best practices.
- Experience with automated testing and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong experience with Git or other version-control systems.
- Experience with Bash/Shell scripting.
- Valuable understanding of cloud security, networking, monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting.
- Experience working with REST APIs, microservices, or serverless architectures is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with distributed teams.

Good to Have

- Experience with TypeScript.
- Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, VPC, EC2, ELB, S3, CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Experience with AWS CodeCommit, CodeBuild, and CodePipeline.
- Experience with Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, or CloudFormation in enterprise environments.
- Exposure to AWS serverless and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with application monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
- Exposure to security automation and cloud security best practices.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications or cloud platforms.
