Senior R&D; Executive – Cosmetics Department: Research & Development (R&D;) Industry: Cosmetics / Color Cosmetics / Beauty & Personal Care Experience: 4–7 Years Location: Seven Seas Beauty Products Pvt Ltd, Sector 31, Rathdana, Sonipat, Haryana Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Senior R&D; Executive with strong hands-on experience in Cosmetics / Color Cosmetics / Beauty & Personal Care product development. The candidate will be responsible for new product development, formulation development and optimization, raw material evaluation, laboratory trials, stability studies, scale-up, troubleshooting, and commercialization of cosmetic products. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, formulation processes, product testing, and manufacturing scale-up, along with the ability to coordinate with Production, QC, QA, Packaging, Purchase, and Marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities 1.

New Product

Development (NPD) - Develop new cosmetic and color cosmetic formulations according to product requirements.

- Handle product development from concept → laboratory trial → pilot batch → scale-up → commercial production.
- Develop and improve products based on market trends, consumer requirements, and business needs.
- Conduct product benchmarking against competitor and market products.
- Support new product launches and commercialization. 2.

Formulation

Development & Optimization - Develop, modify, and optimize formulations to achieve required quality, texture, appearance, performance, stability, and cost.

- Select suitable raw materials, pigments, colors, actives, emulsifiers, preservatives, thickeners, oils, waxes, and other functional ingredients.
- Conduct multiple laboratory trials and evaluate formulation performance.
- Troubleshoot formulation-related issues and implement corrective actions.
- Work on cost optimization and alternate raw material development without compromising product quality. 3.

Cosmetic Product Development

Hands-on experience in one or more of the following categories will be preferred:





- Color Cosmetics - Foundations / BB Creams / Concealers - Lipsticks / Lip Balms / Lip Products - Kajal / Eyeliner / Mascara - Creams & Lotions - Serums & Gels - Face Care Products - Hair Care Products - Personal Care Products 4. Stability & Product Testing - Plan and conduct stability studies for newly developed and existing products.
- Monitor parameters such as appearance, color, odor, pH, viscosity, texture, and physical stability, as applicable.
- Conduct compatibility studies with packaging materials.
- Evaluate product performance during development and stability testing.
- Maintain stability samples and testing records.
- Scale-Up & Production Support - Coordinate and execute pilot and scale-up batches.
- Transfer laboratory formulations to production while maintaining product consistency.
- Work closely with Production during trial and commercial batches.
- Troubleshoot formulation and process-related issues during manufacturing.
- Investigate batch failures, deviations, and product inconsistencies.
- Provide technical solutions for improving manufacturing processes. 6.

Raw Material

Development - Evaluate and approve new raw materials for R&D; trials.

- Conduct trials for alternative / substitute raw materials.
- Study raw material compatibility and functionality.
- Coordinate with Purchase and QC for raw material evaluation and technical requirements.
- Maintain technical information and specifications for R&D; raw materials. 7.

Documentation & Compliance Prepare and maintain:

- Master Formulation Sheets - Trial Reports - Product Specifications - Raw Material Specifications - Stability Reports - Product Development Reports - Scale-Up Reports - Batch Trial Records - R&D; Sample Records - Technical Documentation Ensure all R&D; activities are properly documented according to company procedures and applicable quality requirements.
- Cross-Functional Coordination - Coordinate with Production, QC, QA, Packaging, Purchase, and Marketing teams.
- Provide technical inputs for product development and commercialization.




- Work with Production and QA/QC teams to resolve manufacturing and quality issues.
- Coordinate packaging compatibility and product filling trials.
- Support technical discussions with raw material and packaging suppliers.
- Team & Project Coordination - Plan and prioritize multiple R&D; projects according to business requirements.
- Guide junior R&D; team members during formulation trials and testing.
- Monitor project timelines and ensure timely completion of development activities.
- Maintain proper records of ongoing and completed R&D; projects.

Required Technical Skills

Must have strong knowledge of:

- Cosmetic Formulation - New Product Development (NPD) - Color Cosmetics - Raw Material Selection - Formulation Optimization - Laboratory Trials - Stability Testing - Packaging Compatibility - Scale-Up & Technology Transfer - Manufacturing Troubleshooting - Product Benchmarking - Cost Optimization - R&D; Documentation Experience Required - 4–7 years of relevant experience in Cosmetics / Color Cosmetics / Beauty & Personal Care R&D.;
- Strong hands-on experience in formulation development and product development.
- Experience in taking products from laboratory trials to commercial production.
- Candidates with direct Color Cosmetics R&D; experience will be preferred.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing workplace is required.

Educational

Qualification - M.Sc. / B.Sc. in Chemistry - M.Pharm / B.Pharm - Cosmetic Science or other relevant technical qualification.
