About the Role

Rumor is hiring for one of their clients, Wurknow, for a Senior Quality Analyst. We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Quality Analyst with strong experience in testing payroll processes and payroll modules. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in QA testing along with a strong understanding of the complete US payroll process. The role will mainly focus on testing our payroll module and ensuring that payroll calculations, workflows, and features work accurately as expected.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform manual testing of payroll features and processes.
- Test complete US payroll workflows from start to finish.
- Validate payroll calculations, taxes, deductions, earnings, benefits, and other payroll components.
- Create and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
- Identify, document, and track bugs and payroll-related issues.
- Work closely with developers to understand and resolve defects.
- Perform smoke, sanity, and regression testing before releases.
- Compare actual payroll results with expected results and identify discrepancies.
- Test different payroll scenarios, including recent hires, terminations, salary changes, deductions, and other payroll changes.
- Identify gaps in payroll functionality and suggest improvements.




- Provide clear testing feedback and regular updates to the team.
- Maintain proper QA documentation and testing records.

Required Skills

- 7+ years of experience in Manual QA, payroll processing, or a combination of both.
- Hands-on experience in testing US payroll processes and payroll modules.
- Strong understanding of the complete US payroll process.
- Good knowledge of payroll calculations, taxes, deductions, earnings, benefits, and payroll cycles.
- Strong understanding of QA fundamentals, including Bug Life Cycle, SDLC, STLC, Smoke, Sanity, and Regression Testing.
- Experience writing and executing detailed test cases.
- Experience with Jira or similar bug/test management tools.
- Basic understanding of API testing and SQL queries.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

- Previous experience as a US Payroll Specialist/Processor is a plus.
- Experience testing payroll or HR-related software.
- Experience with functional and regression testing of payroll applications.
- Exposure to Selenium or other automation tools is a plus.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Knowledge of US payroll compliance and regulations is an advantage.
