: Senior QA Engineer (Functional)

Position Details

Role Overview As a Senior QA Engineer at DTDC, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of mission-critical logistics platforms, including last-mile delivery systems, routing engines, and customer-facing applications.

You will own end-to-end testing strategy across modules, validate complex workflows involving multiple systems, and ensure high production quality in a fast-paced, high-scale logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Test Strategy & Planning

- Define test strategy and approach for modules across web, mobile, and backend systems
- Identify risk areas, edge cases, and failure scenarios specific to logistics workflows
- Create comprehensive test plans covering functional, integration, regression, and UAT scenarios

2. Functional & System Testing

- Validate end-to-end workflows such as: Order booking node allocation routing out-for-delivery delivery/exception

- Perform cross-system validation across multiple platforms including branch systems, sorting, rider applications, and control tower dashboards
- Ensure correctness of business rules such as EDD, capacity planning, routing logic, and reattempt handling

3. API &

• Data Validation

- Perform API testing using tools like Postman or similar
- Validate backend workflows including shipment lifecycle events, rider allocation, and scan updates
- Use SQL to verify data consistency and troubleshoot issues across systems

4. Test Design &

• Execution





- Design and maintain detailed test cases and regression suites
- Execute tests and ensure high defect detection efficiency
- Log, track, and manage defects with explicit reproduction steps and impact analysis

Quality &

• Defect Management

- Participate in release validation and support Go/No-Go decisions
- Analyze production issues and contribute to Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Drive defect leakage prevention through improved test coverage and quality practices

6. Collaboration &

• Stakeholder Management

- Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, and Operations teams
- Participate in requirement discussions to identify gaps early
- Provide clear test reports, quality metrics, and risk assessments

- Improve QA processes, test coverage, and overall efficiency
- Mentor junior QA engineers and promote best practices
- Contribute towards shift-left testing and gradual automation adoption

Required Skills &

• Knowledge

Core Testing Skills

- Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, and system testing
- Experience in end-to-end scenario validation

Technical Skills

- API testing using Postman or similar tools
- Strong SQL knowledge (joins, aggregations, data validation)




- Understanding of microservices-based architecture and distributed systems

Tools &

• Technologies

- Test management and defect tracking tools (JIRA, TestRail, etc.)
- Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter (good to have)
- Basic exposure to automation tools such as Selenium (good to have)

Domain Knowledge (Preferred)

- Experience in logistics, supply chain, or e-commerce platforms
- Understanding of last-mile delivery workflows, rider applications, and real-world constraints such as GPS tracking and network variability

Soft Skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail with a focus on edge cases and failure scenarios
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills

Qualification

- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Engineering / MCA or equivalent
