About the Role

Role Overview We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer / Python Developer with strong hands-on experience in Python application development, OpenCV, OpenGL, and AI/ML integration. The role involves working on an existing engineering application, understanding the current codebase and system architecture, implementing new features, modifying and optimizing existing functionality, debugging issues, and improving the overall robustness and performance of the software. The candidate should be comfortable understanding complex existing code and independently taking ownership of feature development and application-level changes.

Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using Python.
- Understand and work with an existing large Python codebase.
- Implement new features and modify existing application functionality.
- Develop and optimize computer vision and image-processing pipelines using OpenCV.
- Work with OpenGL or similar graphics/rendering frameworks for visualization and graphical application requirements.
- Integrate and implement AI/ML models where required.
- Debug software issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Improve application performance, stability, maintainability, and reliability.
- Refactor and optimize existing code without breaking current functionality.
- Work with real-time data, sensors, cameras,



or other external hardware interfaces where required.
- Participate in application architecture and technical design decisions.
- Write clean, modular, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Perform testing and validation of implemented features.

Required Skills

- 5–8 years of professional software development experience.
- Excellent programming skills in Python.
- Strong hands-on experience with OpenCV.
- Experience with OpenGL or similar graphics/visualization frameworks.
- Good understanding of AI/ML concepts and practical model integration.
- Strong understanding of:
- Object-Oriented Programming
- Multithreading / multiprocessing
- Data structures and algorithms
- Application architecture
- Debugging and performance optimization
- Git / version control
- Ability to quickly understand and modify an existing codebase.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in any of the following will be an advantage:

We are looking for an engineer who is strong in hands-on development, can understand an existing application quickly, identify problems in the code, and independently implement reliable solutions. The candidate should be comfortable working on technically challenging applications where software, computer vision, graphics, AI/ML, and hardware interfaces may interact.
