Role & responsibilities

Provide overall technical and strategic leadership for R&D; programmes in printed and adaptable electronics, sensors, MEMS, and micro/nano-fabrication at the Centre

Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of researchers and engineers across sensing materials, device design, fabrication, packaging, characterization and prototype validation

Drive technology translation and TRL advancement taking lab-stage research through process optimization, integration and validation to functional, field-deployable prototypes

Plan, secure and manage sponsored and industry-funded R&D; projects, including defining technical requirements, milestones, deliverables and budgets

Establish, upgrade and manage R&D;, fabrication and characterization facilities, including cleanroom operations and equipment planning

Lead development work on printed/flexible conducting polymer (polyaniline-based) gas sensors, thermal sensors and printed thin-film thermoelectric devices

Build and manage collaborations with industry, academic institutions and government R&D; bodies; represent the Centre in external partnerships

Drive intellectual property generation and manage the patent filing process for sensor,



materials and device technologies developed at the Centre

Ensure technologies and processes align with global best practices, drawing on international industry/academic exposure

Apply structured improvement methods (e.g., Six Sigma, Design of Experiments) to R&D; and fabrication processes where relevant

Support research commercialisation efforts, helping move technologies toward market or strategic deployment.

Duration: Adhoc basis for 3 months initially

Preferred candidate profile

M.Tech/M.S. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 18+ years' relevant experience, or Ph.D. in the same fields with 15 years' relevant experience. Strong background in printed/flexible electronics, sensors, MEMS, micro/nano-fabrication and Lab-on-Chip technologies, with hands-on work in polyaniline-based gas sensors, thermal sensors and printed thin-film thermoelectrics. Proven leadership of multidisciplinary R&D; teams, sponsored project management, technology translation/TRL advancement, cleanroom/lab setup, and a strong IP record.

Six Sigma/DOE/commercialisation training is a plus
