We are looking for a hands-on Senior / Principal Product Engineer with 8+ years of production software engineering experience, including meaningful senior-level experience. The ideal candidate will have strong TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, React and SQL experience, along with enterprise API integration, cloud and practical LLM/Generative AI engineering experience.

The candidate should have personally built and shipped production software end to end and be comfortable owning features from an incomplete business requirement through design, development, testing, deployment and production support. Strong Azure experience is preferred, along with the ability to work independently and communicate technical decisions clearly to non-engineering stakeholders.

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for a hands-on Senior / Principal Product Engineer to build and own live internal products end to end, working across backend services, frontend applications, data, enterprise integrations, cloud and AI.

- Own product features from an initial backlog item through solution design, development, testing, deployment and production.
- Build production backend services and APIs using TypeScript, JavaScript and modern Node.js.
- Build modern and usable React applications using function components, hooks, client-side data fetching and state management.
- Design and maintain relational database schemas, including tables, relationships, SQL, transactions, indexing and migrations.
- Work with real-world structured and unstructured data from JSON, XML, XPath, spreadsheets, documents and APIs.
- Transform, validate and process data from external systems and schemas that you did not design.
- Integrate with enterprise business platforms and APIs,



including authentication, data exchange and error handling.
- Handle real-world integration challenges such as rate limits, failures and partial API responses.
- Build practical LLM / Generative AI capabilities where AI provides genuine product value.
- Design effective prompts and work with structured LLM outputs.
- Validate AI-generated responses and build reliable AI-powered workflows.
- Measure and consider LLM cost, latency and output quality when designing and improving solutions.
- Deploy and run production services on a major cloud platform, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Work with cloud identity, secrets management, deployment and monitoring.
- Write and maintain automated tests and ensure production-quality code.
- Use version control and maintain code that other engineers can understand and extend.
- Troubleshoot production issues and take ownership of the solutions through to resolution.
- Work directly from an incomplete brief, ask the right questions and contribute to technical and product decisions.
- Communicate technical decisions clearly to product and business stakeholders.
- Own a product or platform area rather than simply completing assigned development tickets.

Preferred candidate profile

- 8+ years of commercial experience building and shipping production software,



with meaningful experience at Senior / Staff / Principal level.
- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and JavaScript across backend and frontend development.
- Strong production experience with Node.js, including API design, authentication, validation and error handling.
- Strong hands-on React experience, including function components, hooks, client-side data fetching and state management.
- Strong SQL and relational database experience, including schema design, transactions, indexing and migrations.
- Hands-on experience working with JSON, XML, XPath, spreadsheets and document parsing.
- Robust experience building and integrating REST APIs and enterprise systems.
- Production cloud experience with a major cloud platform; Azure experience is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs / Generative AI in practical applications.
- Experience with prompt design, structured outputs and validation of LLM responses.
- Understanding of measuring and managing AI cost and latency.
- Strong automated testing and version-control practices.
- Demonstrated ability to own and ship software end to end.
- Comfortable working with incomplete requirements and making independent engineering decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
