Reliable platforms are not built by adding more infrastructure.
They are built by making valuable engineering decisions about what to automate, what to simplify, what to monitor, where to spend money and when complexity is genuinely justified.
We are looking for a Platform Engineer who wants responsibility for those decisions.
The opportunity
You will take ownership of the engineering platform that allows our software to be built, deployed and operated reliably.
That means more than keeping infrastructure running.
If deployments are fragile, improve them.
If something is unnecessarily manual, automate it.
If infrastructure costs more than the value it provides, question it.
If monitoring tells us something is wrong, follow the evidence through to the underlying problem.
And if an architectural decision no longer makes sense, bring the evidence and help change it.
Deliberate infrastructure, not infrastructure for its own sake
Our production platform runs on AWS.
For staging, we use lean Linux infrastructure rather than reproducing the cost and complexity of production everywhere.
We also deliberately do not use Kubernetes.
That is not unfinished infrastructure. It is an engineering decision.
We expect platform complexity to earn its place.
We want someone who can understand and defend decisions like this when they remain right and challenge them when technical evidence shows that circumstances have changed.

The objective is simple: create an engineering platform that other engineers trust.
What were looking for
Strong practical Linux and production infrastructure experience is important. AWS experience matters.
But the bigger requirement is engineering judgement and ownership.
We want someone who understands how systems behave in production, makes considered technical decisions and remains responsible for the long-term consequences of those decisions.
You are not joining to replace everything with your preferred stack.
The foundations of the next-generation MenuWise platform are substantially defined. You will understand them, operate them well, improve them and help them evolve where evidence supports change.
