Role & responsibilities

- Manage and service Oracle Database Platform hosted in on-premise Datacenter, Field site and Public cloud.

- Administer and service Oracle Database services

- Monitor Oracle Database services

- Resolve and service requests for Oracle Databasee

- Capacity Management, Performance Management, Tuning, Backup/recovery, Replication, and troubleshooting issues on Oracle RAC and Standalone server.

- Pro-active management of Oracle database services on standalone and Oracle RAC.

- Assist in troubleshooting performance issues with Oracle databases and remediate.

- Tune Oracle databases, and provide recommendations to Application product team to improve performance.

- Setup and monitor Database backups, and restore databases, as required.

- Pro-actively monitor databases, minimizing incidents.

- Optimal database performance.

- Reliable database backups

- Implement and support DR and HA solutions using Oracle as well as third party solutions

- Setup and configure HA and DR for Oracle Installations, per the business requirement.

- Monitor DR database to ensure it is in sync with Production database.





- Support DR testing periodically to validate implementation.

- Act as a mentor for junior Oracle Database Hosting Engineers.

- Coach junior resources to share knowledge.

- Review work performed by junior resources, ensuring quality and consistency.

Preferred candidate profile

- 8 to 10 years experience in supporting Oracle production databases in versions 11g, 12c, 19c

- Robust in one or more Oracle Database technologies High availability solutions, Performance tuning, backup & recovery, database migration and upgrade, Snap and Clones.

- Experience with Oracle tools and PL/SQL scripts.

- Experience with Oracle databases on Public cloud Iaas, PaaS.

- Experience in Linux and Windows operating systems.

- Experience with Korn/Bash shell, PowerShell and automation.

- Experience in Performance Tuning.

- Knowledge of industry-standard, enterprise-class best practices for a large database environment.

- ITIL certification is a plus.
