Role Description The Senior Merchandise Planner is a full-time, on-site role based in Surat, responsible for driving profitable growth through effective planning and allocation of merchandise. The role involves developing seasonal and in-season merchandise plans, forecasting demand, and analyzing sales trends to optimize product mix and inventory levels across channels.

Planner will collaborate closely with design, production, buying, sales, and marketing teams to align assortment strategies with business goals and market insights. Day-to-day activities include monitoring stock performance, managing replenishment, identifying opportunities and risks, preparing reports and dashboards, and recommending corrective actions to maximize margin and minimize markdowns. The role also contributes to budget planning,



supports new product launches with data-driven inputs, and helps refine processes and tools for more accurate planning.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret sales data, forecast trends, and make data-driven planning decisions.
- Candidates should possess Demand Planning and Sales skills to build accurate forecasts, align plans with revenue targets, and support cross-functional commercial objectives.
- Candidates should possess Inventory Management skills to control stock levels, manage replenishment, and optimize product availability and turns.
- Candidates should possess Communication skills to collaborate effectively with buying, design, production, finance, and retail teams and present insights clearly.
- Experience in merchandise planning or category management within apparel, fashion, or retail; strong proficiency in Excel and planning/reporting tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Merchandising, Fashion Management, or a related field; advanced quantitative or merchandising certifications are an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced workplace, prioritize multiple timelines, and maintain high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of Indian ethnic wear, consumer behavior, and multi-channel retail (online and offline) is highly beneficial.
