Purpose of Section / Department To define process flow for the product and to ensure it is being followed through periodic audits. To lead and manage process engineering and equipment maintenance sections while ensuring optimal performance of engineering functions, supporting manufacturing operations, and driving process improvements. The role excludes oversight of Industrial Engineering, focusing on equipment and process optimization.

Qualifications

- Required: B.E. Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics.
- Masters Degree in Engineering or Operations Management (preferred).
- Alternate Qualifications: N.A.
- Specialization: Process Engineering, Equipment Maintenance or Management.

Certifications Required
- Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred)
- ISO 9001/14001 Certification
- Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Certification

Industry Experience Required EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) with exposure to high-volume manufacturing environments.

Skill Set

- Expertise in process engineering and manufacturing equipment maintenance in an EMS environment.
- Knowledge of automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Robust problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on process optimization.




- Hands-on experience with SPC (Statistical Process Control), PFMEA, and DOE (Design of Experiments).
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for engineering functions.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.

Job Responsibilities
1. Leadership in Process Engineering

- Define the process to be followed and ensure adherence through periodic audits.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust manufacturing processes that align with business objectives.
- Develop systems to fool-proof operations / avoid defects (e.g., poka-yoke).

1. Equipment Maintenance and Management

- Ensure machine and plant uptime as per organisational / client requirements / standards.
- Supervise and ensure the optimal functioning of manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with suppliers for equipment upgrades, troubleshooting, and new installations.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards for all equipment.

1. Cross-functional Collaboration

- Educate and influence cross-functional teams on defined processes and adherence to the same, as well as quality improvements and productivity enhancements.




- Work closely with production, quality, and supply chain teams to address engineering challenges.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) through engineering readiness and process validation.

1. Training and Team Development

- Mentor and guide process and equipment engineers to achieve operational excellence.
- Build engineering competencies through targeted training and skill development programs as per training / development needs of the department.
- Ensure team alignment with organizational goals and performance metrics.

1. Data-driven Decision Making

- Use data analysis tools to monitor process performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Generate engineering performance reports and share insights with senior management.

1. Process Documentation and Compliance

- Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and engineering change requests.
- Ensure adherence to ISO and other relevant industry standards in all engineering operations.

1. Cost and Efficiency Management

- Monitor engineering budgets and implement cost-saving measures.
- Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities in process workflows.
