About the Organization : The Akshaya Patra Foundation is one of the world’s largest not-for-profit organizations implementing the Government of India’s Mid-Day Meal Programme. With operations spanning across 16+ states and over 78 kitchens, the Foundation serves over 2.35 million mid-day meals and 1 million morning snacks every day to school children. With an ambitious goal of serving 6 million meals per day by 2030, Akshaya Patra is committed to eliminating classroom hunger and promoting education through a scalable, sustainable, and effective food delivery model.

About the Role: We are looking for highly accomplished fundraising and proposal development professional to lead institutional funding and strategic partnership initiatives. The role will focus on developing compelling funding propositions and building opportunities with foundations, multilateral and bilateral agencies, family philanthropies, and corporate foundations.

The role will work closely with Programme, Operations, Finance, Monitoring & Evaluation, and other teams to translate large-scale social impact initiatives into scalable, evidence-based, and donor-aligned funding opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the development of high-value proposals, concept notes, partnership frameworks, and institutional funding applications.
- Identify, assess, and prioritize funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities.
- Develop strong value propositions, impact narratives, theories of change,



results frameworks, and investment cases.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design scalable and evidence-based programmes.
- Support donor engagement through presentations, strategic documentation, and partnership materials.
- Build and strengthen relationships with internal and external stakeholders throughout the proposal cycle.
- Contribute to strengthening the long-term institutional funding pipeline.
- Ensure proposals meet donor requirements, quality standards, and compliance expectations.
- Develop and maintain proposal repositories, content libraries, and best-practice resources.
- Promote knowledge sharing and excellence in donor communications.

What We’re Looking For:

- Postgraduate degree in Development Studies, Public Policy, International Development, Business Administration, Economics, Social Sector Management, or a related field, preferably from a premier institution.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in institutional fundraising, grants management, proposal development, donor relations, or strategic partnerships.
- Proven track record of developing successful proposals for foundations, CSR donors, multilateral/bilateral agencies, and philanthropic institutions.
- Strong writing, analytical, project management, programme design, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to translate complex programmes and social impact initiatives into compelling funding propositions.
