Our client is seeking an experienced AI Engineer / AI Architect to lead the design, development and scaling of next-generation Generative AI and agentic solutions for major enterprise clients.

This is a senior technical leadership role sitting at the intersection of advanced AI engineering, applied research, product strategy and responsible AI . You will own the full lifecycle of AI solutions — from research and experimentation through to production deployment, optimisation and ongoing improvement.

You will work closely with senior client stakeholders, engineering, product, data science and infrastructure teams to turn emerging AI capabilities into robust, scalable and production-ready enterprise solutions.

What You'll Do

- Design, build and deploy end-to-end Generative AI systems , including multi-agent workflows and production-grade AI applications.
- Architect complex AI pipelines incorporating:
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Fine-tuning and parameter-efficient tuning
- Embedding generation and optimisation
- Hybrid retrieval using vector, graph and keyword approaches
- Design and implement advanced agentic architectures , including tool use, function calling, routing, planning, memory and orchestration.
- Integrate reasoning and tool use across complex AI workflows.
- Lead AI initiatives from early-stage research, experimentation and evaluation through to production deployment.
- Oversee supporting engineering capabilities including APIs, microservices, CI/CD, observability and cloud-native deployment.
- Develop scalable GenAIOps capabilities covering automated testing, regression evaluation, monitoring and continual improvement.
- Design and implement robust AI evaluation frameworks covering:
- Hallucination and factual consistency




- Relevance and precision/recall
- Latency, throughput and system performance
- Cost and computational efficiency
- Build automated evaluation suites incorporating user feedback, continual learning and model updates.
- Implement responsible AI practices including guardrails, fallbacks, red-teaming and human-in-the-loop workflows .
- Balance performance, safety, scalability and cost when making architecture decisions.
- Work closely with product, engineering, data science, infrastructure and responsible AI teams.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to senior executives and clients on AI strategy, architecture, emerging technologies and implementation roadmaps.
- Mentor and develop technical teams across areas including RAG, agentic AI, prompt engineering, evaluation and AI safety.

What We're Looking For We’re looking for a senior technical leader with significant hands-on experience building and scaling production AI systems.

You’ll ideally bring

- 8–12+ years of experience across software engineering, ML engineering or applied AI, with significant hands-on development experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-technology Generative AI programmes from conception through to production .
- Strong expertise in advanced RAG architectures , including vector, hybrid and graph-based retrieval.
- Deep experience with agentic AI architectures , including multi-agent systems, tool selection, routing,



memory, planning and reflection.
- Strong understanding of ReAct, RLAIF and human-in-the-loop feedback approaches .
- Advanced prompt engineering, context engineering and conversation design capabilities.
- Strong experience designing LLM evaluation and experimentation frameworks, including data labelling strategies.
- Experience with relevant AI orchestration frameworks, vector and graph databases, and modern model/API ecosystems.
- Strong software architecture and system design capabilities, with experience delivering production-grade solutions.
- Experience across APIs, microservices, CI/CD, cloud-native platforms and observability.
- A strong understanding of LLM cost optimisation and computational trade-offs .
- Solid executive communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
- Experience leading, mentoring and developing high-performing technical teams.
- The ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and collaborate across multiple disciplines.
- Experience in client-facing consulting or enterprise transformation environments would be highly advantageous.
