We are looking for a Senior Mainframe Developer with deep hands-on experience in COBOL, IMS and DB2, along with AWS and programming experience in Go and/or Python.
The role combines maintaining mission-critical mainframe systems with participation in modernization initiatives involving AWS and modern technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain COBOL applications on IBM z/OS.
- Work with batch and online CICS/IMS programs.
- Work with IMS DB/DC and DB2.
- Perform DB2 SQL and performance tuning.
- Work with JCL, VSAM and CICS.
- Troubleshoot production mainframe systems.
- Analyze and document legacy COBOL/JCL business logic.
- Participate in mainframe modernization and cloud migration.
- Build modernization POCs using Go and/or Python.
- Support mainframe-to-cloud integration.
- Collaborate with architects, data engineers and DevOps teams.
Required Skills
- 8–12 years of mainframe development.
- Solid COBOL.
- IMS DB/DC.
- DB2 for z/OS.
- JCL, VSAM and CICS.
- AWS – EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM.
- Go and/or Python.
- Legacy code analysis and reverse engineering.
- Mainframe production support.
- Modernization experience is highly desirable.
- AI-assisted development experience.
Preferred: US healthcare/payer, claims/eligibility, mainframe-to-cloud modernization and AWS Mainframe Modernization. Pay: Up to ₹3,000,000.00 per year
