ABOUT SIGENERGY INDIA:

Sigenergy India, part of the Failte Solar Group, operates in the clean-energy and renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar energy, energy storage and related technologies.

As the business continues to grow, we are looking for a hands-on and commercially oriented Manager / Senior Manager Legal to support business operations, commercial transactions, projects and legal compliance.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The role will provide end-to-end legal support to the business, with a solid focus on commercial contracts, project/EPC matters, regulatory compliance, legal risk management, dispute resolution and business advisory.

The position will work closely with Sales, Procurement, Finance, Operations, HR and other business teams, while also collaborating with international stakeholders, including the China based Legal and Business teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Commercial Contracts & Legal Advisory

- Draft, review, negotiate and finalize commercial agreements.
- Handle customer, vendor, supplier, distribution, partnership and service agreements.
- Review and negotiate EPC, project, supply, installation, commissioning and O&M; contracts.
- Identify and advise on contractual risks including liability, indemnity, warranty, payment, termination, force majeure and dispute resolution.
- Develop and maintain standard contract templates and legal clauses.
- Provide legal support during commercial negotiations.

2. Energy / Renewable Energy Legal Support

- Provide legal support for renewable energy, power, solar and energy-storage business activities.
- Advise on project development, execution, supply, installation and operational matters.
- Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments affecting the energy sector.
- Support compliance with applicable sector-specific requirements.

3. Compliance, Risk & Dispute Management





- Provide practical legal advice on applicable laws and regulations.
- Identify, assess and mitigate legal and contractual risks.
- Manage legal notices, claims, litigation and arbitration matters.
- Coordinate with external lawyers and legal counsel.
- Maintain records and trackers for contracts, disputes, claims and legal matters.

4. Business Partnering & Governance

- Act as a legal business partner to Sales, Projects, Procurement, Finance, Operations and HR.
- Support management on legal implications of new products, projects and business initiatives.
- Provide commercially practical solutions while protecting the organization's interests.
- Support corporate documentation, authorizations, powers of attorney and governance requirements.
- Coordinate with Company Secretarial and external legal teams where required.

5. International Collaboration

- Work with China-based Legal and Business teams on contracts, processes and legal practices.
- Support localization of Group legal frameworks and practices for the Indian business.
- Facilitate effective communication and knowledge transfer between India and international teams.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

Qualification

- LL.B. / LL.M. from a recognized university or institution.
- Membership of the Bar Council of India / State Bar Council preferred.
- Additional specialization in Corporate / Commercial Law will be an advantage.

Experience

- 6-10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with significant in-house exposure.
- Strong experience in commercial contract drafting, review and negotiation.
- Experience handling customer, vendor, supply, EPC, project, service, installation and O&M; agreements.
- Experience managing legal notices, disputes, litigation and external counsel.
- Ability to independently identify and advise on legal and contractual risks.
- International / cross-border exposure will be an added advantage.
