Senior Interior Designer

Job Summary

Bombay Ceylon Studio is looking for a Senior Interior Designer to join our Mumbai-based design team.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in high-end residential and commercial interiors, with the ability to take projects from concept development through detailed design and execution. You should have a robust understanding of materials, detailing, spatial planning and be comfortable coordinating with consultants, vendors and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop interior design concepts, layouts and design narratives.
- Prepare mood boards, material palettes, presentations and design proposals.
- Develop detailed drawings, furniture layouts, ceiling plans, elevations and construction details.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, vendors and site teams.
- Review shop drawings, material samples and mock-ups.
- Conduct site visits and ensure design intent is maintained during execution.
- Resolve design and detailing issues during the execution stage.
- Manage project timelines and coordinate multiple design deliverables.
- Present design concepts and proposals confidently to clients.
- Source and specify appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, lighting and accessories.
- Mentor and guide junior designers where required.
- Maintain a high standard of design quality and attention to detail across projects.

Requirements
- 2+ years of professional experience in interior design.




- Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture or a related field.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating completed residential and/or commercial interior projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
- Working knowledge of 3D visualisation and presentation software.
- Strong understanding of materials, finishes, furniture and interior detailing.
- Good knowledge of drawings and construction documentation.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and priorities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a wider team.

Preferred
- Experience working on high-end residential, hospitality or premium commercial interiors.
- Experience taking projects from concept through execution.
- Strong eye for proportion, materials, colour and detailing.
- Good understanding of Indian interior construction and vendor coordination.
