Senior Engineer – Estimation

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Engineer – Estimation with 3–6 years of hands-on experience in Civil Estimation, Tender Estimation, Quantity Take-Off and Rate Analysis for Industrial Construction, Power, EPC, Infrastructure or Commercial projects.

The candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed project estimates, BOQs, quantity take-offs, rate analysis and cost calculations based on drawings, specifications, construction methodology and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs and scope of work.
- Prepare detailed civil estimates, tender estimates and cost break-ups.
- Carry out quantity take-off from Civil, Structural and Architectural drawings.
- Conduct detailed item-wise rate analysis considering material, labour, equipment, productivity, wastage, transportation and other costs.
- Analyse current market rates and maintain rate databases and historical project cost data.
- Develop material, manpower, equipment and resource costing based on productivity norms.
- Prepare estimate summaries and support tender pricing and management review.




- Coordinate with Engineering / Construction teams to validate technical assumptions, construction methodology and productivity.
- Review estimates for accuracy, completeness, rates, quantities and cost assumptions.
- Incorporate drawing revisions, specification changes and tender clarifications into estimates.
- Develop and maintain estimation formats, rate analysis templates and costing tools.

Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Civil Estimation & Rate Analysis.
- Excellent knowledge of Quantity Take-Off
- Ability to read and interpret Civil, Structural and Architectural drawings.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction materials and construction methodology.
- Knowledge of material, labour and equipment costing.
- Understanding of labour and equipment productivity norms.
- Experience in vendor/subcontractor rate evaluation.
- Solid knowledge of MS Excel, costing sheets and formulas.
- Working knowledge of ERP/SAP will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of estimation / quantity take-off software will be preferred.
