Job Summary

We are hiring an experienced Engineering Senior Manager – Database for a leading global banking and financial services organization.

The role will be responsible for leading database engineering teams, driving technical strategy, developing engineering talent, and delivering technology outcomes across multiple teams.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience across Database, Infrastructure, AWS Cloud, Oracle, NoSQL and Database Migration, combined with proven experience in engineering leadership and people management.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, coach and develop Engineering Managers, Chapter Leads and Engineers.
- Build and maintain high-performing engineering teams.
- Drive technical strategy, architecture and engineering standards.
- Provide technical direction for database and platform engineering.
- Drive On-Premise to AWS database migration and modernization initiatives.
- Manage and provide technical oversight across AWS RDS, Oracle and NoSQL databases.
- Ensure platform reliability, scalability, security, observability and operational excellence.
- Drive automation, DevSecOps practices and engineering productivity.
- Reduce technical debt and continuously improve engineering practices.
- Own delivery outcomes across multiple teams and technology domains.
- Manage technology risks, dependencies and operational resilience.
- Establish and maintain engineering governance and controls.
- Ensure compliance with security, operational risk and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Product Owners, Architects,



Business Leaders, Risk Teams and senior stakeholders.
- Drive transformation initiatives and communicate strategy, risks and delivery progress effectively.
- Develop engineering talent through coaching, career development and succession planning.

Mandatory Skills
- 15+ years of experience across Database, Infrastructure and Solutions.
- Strong Engineering Management / People Leadership experience.
- Strong experience with Oracle Database.
- Solid understanding/experience of AWS RDS.
- Experience with NoSQL databases.
- Proven experience in Database Migration / On-Premise to AWS Migration.
- Strong understanding of Cloud Infrastructure and Database Architecture.
- Experience with DevSecOps / DevOps / Platform Engineering.
- Experience in engineering governance, risk management and operational resilience.
- Strong technical design and architecture experience.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
