About the Role

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead the team responsible for building MOVE’s foundational systems—identity, authentication, service discovery, messaging, observability, and more. You’ll be a key driver in setting technical direction, growing platform engineers, and scaling systems that serve millions of users across our travel and fintech products.

Key Responsibilities

- Own and drive delivery of multiple frontend & backend teams building scalable, high-performance web and mobile applications.
- Translate product & tech roadmap vision into clear engineering roadmaps and ensure timely, high-quality execution.
- Build and scale strong frontend engineering teams through hiring, mentorship, and career development.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver cohesive end-to-end customer experiences.
- Establish and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, architecture reviews, and tech debt management.
- Drive continuous improvement in developer velocity, operational excellence, and platform stability.
- Align with leadership on business priorities, technical strategy, and long-term technology investments.
- Foster a culture of ownership, experimentation, and customer-centric engineering.

- Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years in engineering leadership roles.
- Strong technical foundation in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and microservices.
- Track record of driving engineering excellence, career development, and cross-team influence.




- Proven leadership of backend/platform teams delivering large-scale, high-traffic applications.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architecture (GCP/AWS/Azure), microservices, and data platforms.
- Proven experience designing resilient, scalable, and secure platforms at enterprise scale.
- Strong leadership in system design, architecture reviews, and cross-team technical governance.
- Prior Hands-on expertise in full-stack development, API design, data modeling, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Strong technical background in modern frontend frameworks (React, Next.js, etc.) with ability to guide architectural decisions.
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, release management, and observability.
- Strong stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, and influencing skills.
- Experience driving hiring, team growth, coaching, and people leadership.
- Startup experience is strongly preferred.
