Job Title: Windows Platform & Packaging Engineer (InstallShield / PowerShell)

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Windows Platform & Packaging Engineer to support the migration and deployment of enterprise applications from Linux-based environments to Windows platforms. The engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Windows installation packages, deployment processes, automation scripts, and upgrade mechanisms using InstallShield and PowerShell. The role involves close collaboration with architects, development teams, DevOps, QA, and product teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable application deployment across Windows environments, including medical device platforms and Windows Server systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain Windows installer packages using InstallShield (MSI, EXE, Suite/Advanced UI Projects).
- Create deployment packages for Java, .NET, and hybrid applications, including native DLLs and third-party dependencies.
- Convert and adapt Linux-based installation, deployment, and upgrade processes for Windows environments.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for installation, configuration, deployment, upgrade, and maintenance automation.
- Configure and manage Windows Services, environment variables, registry settings, and system configurations required by applications.
- Implement and maintain application upgrade, patching, rollback, repair, and uninstallation mechanisms.
- Manage dependency installation, prerequisite validation, and silent/unattended deployments.
- Integrate installer creation and deployment activities with CI/CD pipelines and release management processes.
- Troubleshoot installer,



deployment, configuration, and environment-related issues across development, test, and production environments.
- Ensure installers comply with security, audit, logging, code-signing, and enterprise deployment standards.
- Support deployment validation on Windows Server platforms and medical imaging/Ultrasound device environments.
- Collaborate with Development, QA, Architecture, and Release teams to streamline software delivery and deployment processes.
- Maintain technical documentation for installer architecture, deployment workflows, and release procedures.

Required Skills & Expertise Packaging & Installer Development

- Strong hands-on experience with InstallShield (Basic MSI, InstallScript, Suite/Advanced UI Projects).
- In-depth knowledge of Windows Installer (MSI/MSIX) architecture and packaging concepts.
- Experience creating MSI, EXE, and Suite installers for enterprise software.
- Robust understanding of installer versioning, upgrades, patches, hotfixes, and rollback strategies.

Windows Platform

- Good knowledge of Windows Server Administration.
- Experience managing Windows Services, Registry, Environment Variables, File System permissions, and system configurations.
- Understanding of Windows deployment best practices and enterprise software distribution methods.

Scripting & Automation

- Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting (mandatory).




- Experience automating installation, deployment, validation, and maintenance activities.
- Familiarity with Batch scripting and deployment automation tools.

Application Deployment

- Experience packaging and deploying Java and .NET applications.
- Knowledge of native DLL management, third-party dependencies, and prerequisite handling.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for installation and deployment issues.

DevOps & Release Engineering

- Experience with Git, Azure Repos, or similar source control systems.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or equivalent CI/CD platforms.
- Understanding of build automation and release engineering practices.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in Linux-to-Windows migration projects.
- Knowledge of code signing and certificate management.
- Experience with InstallShield Suite / Advanced UI projects.
- Familiarity with enterprise deployment tools such as SCCM, Microsoft Intune, or equivalent.
- Exposure to medical device, healthcare, or regulated software environments.
- Understanding of authentication, LDAP, and security-related deployments.
- Experience with distributed applications, microservices, or containerized deployments.
- Knowledge of WiX Toolset and modern Windows packaging technologies.
- Basic to intermediate .NET development experience.
