Position- Sr. Engineer/Asst. Manager

Location- IMT Manesar, Gurugram, Haryana

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Engineer – Product Design to join our design team. The role involves RFQ management, Recent product design, BOM creation and management, and design documentation, with a strong focus on sheet metal-based automotive components.

Key Responsibilities

- RFQ Management:
- Review customer RFQs and analyse technical requirements.
- Prepare cost estimates, feasibility studies, and design proposals.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely RFQ submissions.
- Provide design inputs that balance customer requirements with manufacturability and cost optimization.
- Maintain RFQ documentation and ensure compliance with customer expectations.

- New Product Design
- Lead design activities for sheet metal components and assemblies (hinges, cradles, screw jacks, door checkers, BIW & other sheet metal stamping parts).
- Develop concepts, create CAD models, and validate designs.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
- BOM Creation & Management:
- Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials for new and existing products.
- Ensure accuracy, version control,



and alignment with design documentation.
- Work closely with procurement and production teams to support material planning.

- Design Documentation
- Create and maintain detailed design records, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Ensure proper documentation for design changes, approvals, and customer submissions.
- Support audits and compliance requirements with accurate design records.
- Customer Interaction: Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and provide engineering support during project execution.
- Continuous Improvement: Support initiatives to enhance design processes, reduce costs, and improve product performance.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- 4–5 years of experience in product design and RFQ management, preferably in sheet metal components.
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as CATIA (3DX), NX.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal design principles, manufacturing processes, and design-for-manufacture.
- Experience in BOM creation/management and design documentation.
- Familiarity with Products such as Closure system, BIW etc.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
