Role Overview

Position: Senior Engineer – Embedded Software Development

Reporting to: Head of Embedded Systems

Job location: Vadodara, Gujarat / Remote Working

Job Responsibilities

- Interface with customers for embedded software/firmware development requirements gathering, prepare requirements compliance report, prepare software specification sheet, review hardware schematics and get customer approval on software solution.
- Understand System level Functional Requirements and Block Diagram/P&ID;/Schematics, Electronics Hardware/PCB Schematics, and select suitable IC/Processor based on it for seamless integration.
- Develop embedded software/firmware program based on project requirements and/or benchmarking of competitor product and logic.
- Perform embedded software/firmware development activities like – process flow diagram, logic tables/SOO, communication protocol finalization; BLDC motors, various sensors & MCU programming etc., which meets product performance requirements and quality assurance as per CMMI & TMMI Level-5.
- Create Software/firmware Verification Plan (SVP) based on product requirements, define test/use cases and their pass/fail criteria, provide inputs for Test set-up/equipment design, perform testing and publish report.
- Conduct embedded software program review with CFT/Supplier/Customer and get their sign-off before releasing it for proto-build and testing.
- Prepare design documents required for various product certification independently including user manual.
- Lead resolution of software verification failure / customer complaints using 8D process (RCA and CAPA) and implement program changes thru ECRN process with minimum supervision.




- Maintain project folder as per applicable QMS system – ISO/AS/IATF/CMMI/TMMI and face internal and external audits with minimum supervision.
- Prioritize, balance and manage multiple tasks with sense of urgency in changing workplace, with available resources.
- Train GETs and Engineers on embedded software development activities.
- Be the SPOC for all embedded software development projects and provide status updates/clarifications to PMO/HOD/FH/CFT members and management on regular basis.

Qualifications

- First class degree in B.E./B.Tech – Electronics and Communication

Experience Requirements
- 4–8 Years in related field

Additional Requirements
- 4 - 8 years of work experience in design and development of embedded software for electro-mechanical systems including IIoT/Industry 4.0 implementation for industrial and/or automotive applications
- Good understanding of System level Functional Requirements and Block Diagram/P&ID;/Schematics, Electronics Hardware/PCB Schematics and select a suitable IC/Processor or other components based on it
- Hands-on working experience in at least one full embedded software development life cycle using RS485/CAN/LIN based communication protocol; 32 bit microprocessor programming using any RTOS and/or IDE embedded firmware tools; BLDC motor, Hall sensor & MCU related programming starting from VOC/product requirements gathering, SOO & specification finalization, logic and process flow diagram creation, embedded software programming, verification testing, debugging, trouble-shooting till production release
- Worked on resolution of at least one software testing failure / customer complaint preferably using 8D process and RCA tools like Fishbone / Fault Tree Analysis / 5-Why analysis etc.
- Fluent in English and Hindi languages
