About Bytebeam

Bytebeam builds the hardware and software that power the next generation of smart connected vehicles. We do device telemetry, remote diagnostics, OTA updates, alerts, and fleet-scale device management. We help teams ship connected products faster and run them reliably in the field. We are now building an AI-native platform for Indian commercial fleets. We are building it to be several times better than anything in the market, not a little better.

Role Overview

You will be the design owner across web and the next-generation mobile app. You will set the design direction for an AI-native fleet platform and own the output end to end. Quality is our edge: in a category of cluttered fleet dashboards, craft is what earns operator trust, and you set that bar. You will not be here to maintain the current app; you will be here to challenge it.

What you'll do

- Own design end to end: interaction, information, and visual design for web and the AI-native approach, from a messy telematics problem to a shipped, measured experience.
- Design the core interface system: a modular, composable UI with the AI interaction at its center, backed by a scalable design system so web, mobile, and tablet read as one product.
- Make dense data simple: this is a dashboard for a distrustful, interrupted, often-driving/ time-pressed user. Lead with the answer, the "why", and the action, not a data dump, and turn AI outputs into answers a fleet operator trusts.
- Prototype in the real material: Figma, code, and AI tools (FigmaMake, Cursor, Claude Design etc.). We trust working prototypes over decks.



AI is a current material here, and the surface still needs design.
- Challenge the status quo, and defend your POV: critique the current app, show what you would do differently and why, and tell that story with a point of view leadership can get behind. We test many directions and pick the best; you drive that.
- Set the quality bar: craft is our moat, and your work becomes the reference the rest of the team designs against.

What we're looking for
- Around 3+ years of product design: a strong senior individual contributor, with a portfolio of shipped, end-to-end work you can defend.
- Excellent taste and craft, with the range from interaction concept to pixel-perfect visual design.
- You find as much satisfaction in untangling a dense, data-heavy workflow as in a polished screen. Fluency with design systems, responsive layout, and information design.
- AI-passionate: you reach for every relevant AI tool, prototype in code where it helps, and pair that speed with judgment.
- You design from evidence: cognitive load, mobile-first, accessibility, and the instinct that most UX problems are information-architecture problems.
- High agency: you move from an observed problem to a working prototype and a shipped result without waiting for a complete brief.
