Position: Design Engineer Mechanical

Roles & Responsibilities

- Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Work closely with Sales, Engineering and other cross-functional teams to develop new designs, customer-specific solutions, and modifications to existing products.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, including BOM, GD&T;, surface finish, weld symbols, and material specifications.
- Manage engineering data, revisions and product configurations using PDM/PLM systems.
- Support product change management, design improvements, standardization, Value Analysis (VA), and Value Engineering (VE) activities.
- Execute ECN/ESR/ECO activities and manage engineering changes through the required workflow.
- Support with basic FEA and engineering calculations and interpret analysis results for design validation.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable standards like ASME, ISO, and customer specifications.

Must Have Skills

- Strong hands-on experience in SolidWorks 3D modelling and 2D drafting.




- Experience with PDM/PLM software such as SolidWorks PDM / Windchill / Teamcenter etc.
- Good understanding of ECN, ESR, ECO, revision control, BOM, and product change management.
- Good knowledge of GD&T; / ASME Y14.5.
- Good understanding of fits, tolerances, surface finish, and engineering drawing practices.
- Working knowledge of ASME BPVC Section VIII, ASME B16 series, ASME B31.3, and ASME B31.1.
- Basic understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Positive understanding of material selection and material properties, particularly - Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminium.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including casting, forging, machining, fabrication, welding, and extrusion.
- Familiarity with pipes, pipe schedules, tubes, pipe/tube fittings, flanges, valves, and structural sections such as L angles, C channels, flat bars and I-sections.
- Knowledge of ISO and EN standards will be an added advantage.
