We are seeking a Senior Database Architect to define and lead the delivery of secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective database solutions across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and a proven record of assessing, planning, designing, and executing complex migrations from on-premises platforms to Microsoft Azure. The role also requires strong working knowledge of other relational database technologies, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, MariaDB and MySQL, and the ability to lead modernization, platform selection, performance optimization, and operational readiness for highly sensitive, low-latency environments.

Responsibilities

- Define the enterprise database architecture strategy, standards, reference patterns, and technology roadmap across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud platforms.Lead end-to-end SQL Server migration programs from on-premises environments to Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, or SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines.
- Assess workloads, dependencies, compatibility, performance baselines, licensing, security requirements, and recovery objectives to determine the appropriate migration and modernization path.
- Create migration architectures and detailed plans covering discovery, remediation, proof of concept, data movement, synchronization, testing, cutover, rollback, validation, and post-migration optimization and Design highly available and disaster-resilient database platforms using capabilities such as Always On availability groups, failover clustering, replication, backup and restore, point-in-time recovery, and cross-region recovery.
- Architect solutions for Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and other database technologies, including consolidation, upgrade, replatforming, and cross-engine migration scenarios and Provide expert guidance on logical and physical data modeling, schema design, indexing, partitioning, query optimization, capacity planning, and database lifecycle management.
- Establish security architecture for encryption, identity and access management, privileged access, auditing, data masking, vulnerability management, and regulatory compliance. Define monitoring, observability, automation, patching, backup, recovery, and operational support standards for production database services.
- Partner with application, infrastructure, cloud, security, network, and service-management teams to ensure database solutions meet business, technical, and operational requirements. Produce architecture documents, decision records, migration runbooks, support models, risk assessments, and executive-level recommendations.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor database engineers and DBAs, review solution designs,



and act as the senior escalation point for complex database incidents and performance issues.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience with 10+ yrs of experience in database engineering, administration, architecture, or platform leadership, including responsibility for enterprise-scale, business-critical environments.
- Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including architecture, installation, configuration, upgrades, high availability, disaster recovery, performance tuning, security, and troubleshooting and Demonstrated experience leading complex SQL Server migrations from on-premises environments to Azure, including discovery, compatibility assessment, target selection, cutover planning, and post-migration stabilization.
- Strong experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Database Migration Service, Azure Migrate, and related assessment and migration tooling and Solid working knowledge of at least two additional database platforms such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Advanced expertise in T-SQL, execution-plan analysis, indexing, statistics, wait analysis, workload troubleshooting, and performance optimization, including the ability to analyze, refactor, and optimize complex stored procedures and database views.
- Experience designing backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery solutions aligned with defined availability and recovery objectives and with database security, compliance controls, audit requirements, and secure architecture for regulated or business-critical environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical considerations into clear options, risks, costs, and recommendations for technical and executive stakeholders.

Nice-To-Have:

- Experience with AWS or Google Cloud database services in addition to Azure and Knowledge of NoSQL platforms, data warehousing, analytics platforms, or cloud-native data services.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, database DevOps, automated schema deployment, and configuration management and Scripting or automation skills using PowerShell, Python, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with FinOps, licensing optimization,



capacity forecasting, and total-cost-of-ownership analysis and supporting semiconductor fabrication or optical networking equipment manufacturing environments, with familiarity in business-critical manufacturing systems, high-volume production data, equipment integration, traceability, quality controls, and stringent availability requirements.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Azure Database Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, Oracle, PostgreSQL, AWS Database, or comparable credentials.
