Senior Data Analyst

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst who can help build a data-driven approach to manufacturing operations.

The role will focus on collecting, structuring and analysing manufacturing data, identifying trends and inefficiencies, and translating insights into actions that improve productivity, efficiency, quality and operational performance.

The individual will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, maintenance and other business teams to understand operational challenges, identify opportunities for improvement and use data, analytics and automation to transform existing ways of working.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys going beyond reporting and dashboards to answer the question: What is the data telling us, and what should we do differently because of it?

Key Responsibilities

1. Manufacturing Data & Analytics

- Collect, consolidate and analyse data from multiple manufacturing and operational sources.
- Identify relevant data points, trends, patterns and relationships that can improve manufacturing performance.
- Clean, validate and structure data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Work with stakeholders to understand business problems and translate them into analytical requirements.
- Develop analytical models and reports to support operational and management decision-making.

2. Manufacturing Performance & Insights Analyse data to identify opportunities across areas such as:

- Production efficiency and productivity
- Machine utilization and downtime
- Production cycle time
- Capacity utilization
- OEE
- Quality, rejection and rework
- Throughput
- Maintenance performance
- Material and inventory movement
- Production planning and scheduling
- Cost and operational efficiency

Translate findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for manufacturing teams. 3.



Dashboards & KPI Management

- Develop and maintain dashboards for manufacturing and business leadership.
- Define and track key manufacturing KPIs.
- Build dashboards that provide visibility into operational performance and highlight deviations and trends.
- Develop automated reporting mechanisms to reduce dependence on manual reporting.
- Establish consistent definitions and calculations for critical manufacturing metrics.
- Enable management to move from periodic reporting towards more real-time and data-driven decision-making.

4. Process Improvement & Transformation

- Work with manufacturing teams to identify inefficient or manual processes that can be improved through data and technology.
- Analyse existing processes and identify opportunities for automation, digitization and process optimization.
- Support implementation of data-driven improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate the impact of changes and quantify improvements in productivity, efficiency, quality and cost.
- Challenge traditional ways of working and identify opportunities to use data and technology more effectively.

5. Data Automation

- Identify repetitive manual reporting and data collection activities that can be automated.
- Develop automated data pipelines, reports and dashboards in collaboration with IT/data engineering teams.
- Integrate data from different systems and sources to create a unified view of manufacturing performance.
- Support the adoption of analytics, AI/ML and other digital technologies where relevant.

6. Stakeholder Collaboration

- Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain and IT teams.




- Spend time understanding the shop-floor context behind the data.
- Present analytical findings in a simple and business-friendly manner.
- Partner with functional teams to convert insights into measurable improvements.
- Track outcomes of analytical and transformation initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5 to 8 years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Manufacturing Analytics or a related field.
- Experience working with manufacturing / industrial / engineering operations is strongly preferred.
- Strong experience in data analysis, data visualization and interpretation.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI / Tableau or similar BI tools.
- Experience developing dashboards and KPI frameworks.
- Ability to work with large datasets and identify meaningful trends and patterns.
- Experience automating reports and repetitive data-related processes.
- Understanding of manufacturing KPIs and operational metrics will be an advantage.
