Role Purpose

Provide high-quality drawing production, technical drafting leadership, and CAD support for civil engineering projects across the Metals, Energy, and Infrastructure sectors. The role combines project delivery responsibilities with leadership of the India drafting team, including mentoring, troubleshooting, template development, quality assurance, and implementation of drafting standards.

Project Leadership & Delivery

- Perform the role of Lead Drafter on assigned projects while producing plans, profiles, cross-sections and civil
- engineering drawings.
- Coordinate drafting activities and ensure deliverables are issued safely, accurately and on schedule.
- Interface with engineers, designers and project managers to resolve technical issues and priorities.
- Set up and maintain drawing sheets, title blocks, viewports and sheet sets.
- Prepare issue sets, maintain drawing registers and manage transmittals through ProjectWise or equivalent systems.

Drafting Team Leadership

- Provide day-to-day leadership and technical guidance to the India drafting team.
- Mentor, coach and develop junior and intermediate drafters.
- Assist with resource planning, work allocation and prioritisation of drafting activities.
- Lead onboarding and capability development initiatives.




- Act as the primary escalation point for CAD and BIM troubleshooting.

Technical Excellence

- Lead development and maintenance of drafting templates, title blocks, CAD standards and procedures.
- Drive standardisation and continuous improvement across the drafting team.
- Perform QA reviews and ensure compliance with project and company standards.
- Identify opportunities for automation and workflow improvements.
- Use AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D and OpenRoads to support drawing production.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

- Civil Engineering Technician/Diploma or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of civil drafting experience on infrastructure, mining, industrial or energy projects.
- Demonstrated experience leading or supervising drafting teams.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation with familiarity in Civil 3D/OpenRoads.
- Experience developing CAD standards, templates and drafting procedures.
- Robust technical troubleshooting, mentoring and communication skills.

Preferred

- Experience leading offshore or geographically distributed drafting teams.
- Experience supporting global project delivery centres.
- Exposure to CAD automation or productivity improvement initiatives.
