Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst / Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Core Banking to join our team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise in Core Banking, with the ability to understand complex banking processes, translate business requirements into functional specifications, and work closely with product, technology, presales, and client-facing teams.

The role requires a combination of banking domain knowledge, business analysis capabilities, stakeholder management, and functional consulting expertise.

Key Responsibilities

- Understand and analyze Core Banking business processes, products, and functionalities.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from clients and stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional requirements and specifications.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, QA, Implementation, and Presales teams.
- Provide functional expertise and domain guidance throughout the product/project lifecycle.
- Analyze existing banking processes and identify opportunities for process improvement and digital transformation.
- Prepare BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, functional specifications, and other business documentation.
- Participate in client discussions, requirement workshops, solution discussions, and product demonstrations.
- Support solutioning by providing functional inputs based on Core Banking requirements.




- Identify gaps between business requirements and existing product capabilities and recommend suitable solutions.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure accurate interpretation and implementation of business requirements.
- Support UAT activities, functional testing, issue analysis, and resolution.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for Core Banking functionalities and provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated on evolving banking processes, industry practices, regulations, and digital banking trends.

Required Skills

- 7–13 years of relevant experience in Business Analysis / Functional Consulting / Core Banking / Banking Domain.
- Robust hands-on experience in Core Banking domain.
- MBA / PGDM qualifications is Mandatory.
- Excellent understanding of banking products, processes, and workflows.
- Strong requirement gathering and business analysis skills.
- Ability to create functional and business documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to interact with business users, clients, product teams, and technology teams.
- Strong presentation and client-facing skills.
- Experience in Agile / Scrum methodologies will be an advantage.

Preferred Profile

- Candidates from Core Banking product companies, banking technology organizations, fintech companies, or banks are preferred.
- Experience working on large-scale banking transformation or Core Banking implementation projects will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with experience in functional consulting, solutioning, product consulting, or presales support will be preferred.
