Sr. Backend Engineer

JOB LOCATION: B ANGALORE (WORK FROM OFFICE)

ROLE SUMMARY

We are looking for a Backend Engineer with 4–6 years of hands-on experience building and scaling server-side applications in Java. You will work on the core services that power the company’s enterprise SaaS platform — designing APIs, data models and services that are secure, performant and reliable for large enterprise customers. This role sits within a product engineering team and offers robust ownership over features from design through to production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design, develop and maintain scalable, secure backend services and REST APIs using Java, Spring / Spring Boot and Hibernate.
- Own features end-to-end — from technical design and estimation through implementation, testing, code review and production support.
- Design efficient data models and write optimised, complex queries against MySQL / relational databases.
- Build and evolve microservices, including service decomposition, inter-service communication and API versioning.
- Diagnose and resolve performance, scalability and reliability issues in multi-tenant, high-availability production systems.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, QA and frontend engineers to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Write unit and integration tests, and participate actively in code reviews to uphold code quality and engineering best practices.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and work with containerised deployments (Docker) on cloud platforms such as Azure.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical design discussions and architectural decisions.




- Support third-party and customer integrations, including authentication, webhooks and data synchronisation.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 4–6 years of professional experience in backend development with Core Java.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Spring / Spring Boot and Hibernate (or equivalent ORM).
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design and design patterns.
- Proven experience designing and building RESTful web services and integrating with external APIs.
- Strong command of MySQL or another relational database — schema design, indexing, query optimisation.
- Practical experience with, or strong understanding of, microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with version control (Git), build tools (Maven/Gradle) and Agile development practices.
- Ability to write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and debug complex production issues independently.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work directly with cross-functional stakeholders.

GOOD TO HAVE
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ or ActiveMQ.
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or equivalent).
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
- Experience working on multi-tenant SaaS products or enterprise service management platforms (ITSM/CRM/CSM).
- Exposure to NoSQL datastores, caching layers (Redis) or search technologies (Elasticsearch/Solr).
- Understanding of AI/ML-driven workflow automation or interest in applying GenAI within enterprise products.

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
