We are looking for a Sr. QA Engineer to own functional, automation, integration, performance, and non-functional testing for a cloud-native platform. This role requires strong experience in test automation, API testing, load testing, non-functional validation, CI/CD integration, cloud/Kubernetes-based testing, and quality governance.

The ideal candidate should be hands-on with automation frameworks and capable of working a Sr. QA/SDET across API, UI, backend services, Kafka/event-driven workflows, data validation, and performance testing. Lirio’s platform uses distributed microservices, REST APIs, Kafka event flows, Kubernetes scaling, messaging channels, reporting, and DataDog-based monitoring, making end-to-end quality ownership critical.

Key Responsibilities

Sr. QA for platform services, APIs, integrations, data workflows, and cloud-native applications.

Design and implement automated test frameworks for functional, regression, API, integration, smoke, and end-to-end testing.

Build and maintain automation for REST APIs, microservices, event-driven Kafka workflows, and backend validation.

SDET practices including test code quality, reusable frameworks, CI/CD integration, test data management, and automated reporting.

AIDLC/AITLC

Define and execute non-functional testing including load, performance, scalability, reliability, resilience, failover, and latency testing.

Create load testing strategies for APIs, workers, Kafka consumers, message throughput, database performance, and Kubernetes-based services.

Partner with development teams to shift quality left through unit test standards, contract testing, integration testing, and testability improvements.

Validate deployments across Kubernetes environments including pod health, service readiness, scaling behavior, and environment configuration.

Test cloud integrations across AWS and Azure, including APIs, queues/topics, storage, databases,



and managed services.

Own test plans, test cases, automation backlog, release validation, and go/no-go quality recommendations.

Analyze defects, identify root causes, and work with engineering teams to prevent recurrence.

Validate data quality, ingestion outputs, schema correctness, transformations, reporting files, and business rule processing.

Monitor test execution metrics, defect leakage, automation coverage, performance trends, and production quality indicators.

Collaborate with product, engineering, DevOps, security, and operations teams to ensure releases are stable and production ready.

Required Skills

7+ years of QA/SDET experience,

Solid experience with test automation frameworks for API, backend, integration, and end-to-end testing.

Hands-on experience with tools such as RestAssured, Postman/Newman, Karate, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG, PyTest, or similar.

Strong experience with REST API testing, contract validation, schema validation, authentication testing, and negative testing.

Experience testing Java/Spring Boot microservices and distributed backend systems.

Experience with Kafka/event-driven testing, including validating messages, topics, consumers, retries, duplicate handling, and data consistency.

Experience with load and performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, k6, Locust, or similar.

Experience validating systems deployed on Kubernetes, including logs, pods, services, scaling behavior, and deployment health.

Experience with SQL and database validation, preferably PostgreSQL.

Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar.

Strong understanding of functional and non-functional testing practices.

Experience with defect management, test reporting, quality metrics, and release readiness processes.

Strong communication skills and ability to work with QA planning across multiple teams.
