We’re seeking a Senior Test Engineer to take technical ownership of UI automation using C# and Playwright. You’ll shape the automation strategy, design scalable frameworks, and mentor others—ensuring tests are reliable, maintainable, and aligned with engineering best practice.
2 Key responsibilities
- Lead the design and evolution of a scalable Playwright automation framework.
- Write high-quality, maintainable automated tests in C#.
- Define and uphold automation standards and best practices.
- Reduce flaky tests and improve overall test stability.
- Integrate and optimise automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.
- Mentor and support Test Engineers through reviews and coaching.
- Act as a quality advocate within the delivery team.
3 Required skills and experience
- Strong,
hands-on experience with Playwright and C# in enterprise-scale test suites.
- Deep understanding of Playwright concepts, including:
o BrowserContext isolation and true test independence.
o Authentication strategies (e.g., storage state and token-based approaches).
o Handling dynamic UI behaviour and asynchronous flows.
- Proven experience designing automation frameworks and helpful abstractions.
- Strong background in CI/CD integration, parallel execution, and pipeline optimisation.
- Confidence performing root-cause analysis of complex test and pipeline failures.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
4 Nice to have
- Experience with BDD frameworks (e.g., Reqnroll / SpecFlow).
- API testing alongside UI automation.
- Experience in regulated or large enterprise environments.
- Contributions to onboarding guides, automation standards, or internal documentation.
