Senior Associate – Ivy League & US College Admissions

About CollegePass

CollegePass provides personalised admissions advising to students applying to Ivy League and other highly selective US universities. We work closely with students and families on profile development, university strategy, application positioning, essays and submission planning.

Role Overview The Senior Associate will guide students through the US undergraduate admissions journey—from understanding their academic and personal profile to developing a university strategy and completing compelling, accurate applications.

This is an admissions advising and application-delivery role . It does not involve sales, business development, lead generation, enrolment conversion or revenue targets.

We do not prescribe a particular degree, academic major or number of years of experience. Selection will be based on admissions knowledge, research and writing ability, student-management skills, judgement, communication and performance during the selection process.

- Assess each student’s academics, curriculum, interests, activities, achievements, personality and long-term goals.
- Identify profile strengths, gaps and areas requiring further development.
- Create a personalised admissions roadmap with clear priorities and timelines.
- Ensure recommendations are ambitious but realistic and appropriate for the individual student.

2. Academic and Extracurricular Profile Development

- Guide students in selecting meaningful academic projects, competitions, research, internships, leadership initiatives and community activities.
- Help students build depth and continuity rather than accumulate superficial activities.
- Connect profile-building recommendations to the student’s interests and likely academic direction.
- Review progress regularly and revise the strategy when required.

3. University Research and Shortlisting

- Research Ivy League and other highly selective US universities, majors, curricula, opportunities and admissions expectations.

- Clearly explain reach, target and likely options to students and parents.
- Advise on Early Decision, Early Action, Regular Decision and other application plans.
- Verify key admissions information using authoritative university sources.

4. Application Positioning

- Help each student identify the strongest and most authentic themes connecting their academic interests,

activities and personal experiences.
- Develop an overall application strategy across the Common App, activities list, honours, essays and supplemental responses.
- Ensure consistency across all parts of the application without unnecessary repetition.
- Help students present accomplishments accurately and with appropriate context.

5. Essay Guidance

- Conduct structured brainstorming sessions for personal statements and university-specific essays.
- Help students identify meaningful experiences, insights and personal qualities to explore.
- Provide developmental and line-level feedback on structure, clarity, specificity, voice and relevance.
- Preserve the student’s authentic voice and never write essays on the student’s behalf.
- Ensure essays respond directly to the prompt and complement the wider application.

6. Application Review and Submission Management

- Review Common App information, activities, honours, additional information and supplemental responses.
- Check applications for accuracy, consistency, clarity and completeness.
- Maintain application calendars and monitor all internal and university deadlines.
- Coordinate required inputs from students, parents and other CollegePass team members.
- Ensure applications are submission-ready before the relevant deadlines.

7. Student and Parent Advising

- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings with students.
- Communicate recommendations, expectations and next steps clearly.
- Build trust with students while maintaining structure, accountability and professional boundaries.
- Provide parents with appropriate progress updates and address concerns thoughtfully.
- Handle disagreements or unrealistic expectations with evidence, sensitivity and sound judgement.

8. Progress Tracking and Documentation

- Maintain complete and current records of meetings, action items, deadlines and application status.
- Track whether students are completing agreed tasks and intervene when progress falls behind.
- Share clear meeting notes and follow-up actions.
- Use internal trackers, shared documents and other systems consistently.

9. Research and Knowledge Development

- Stay informed about US admissions policies, testing requirements, application platforms and university-specific developments.
- Develop a working understanding of major Indian and international school curricula, including CBSE, ISC, IGCSE, A Levels and IBDP.
- Contribute useful research, resources and best practices to the wider admissions team.
- Participate actively in training, case reviews and application-quality discussions.

Candidate Profile We are looking for someone who demonstrates:

- Strong written and spoken English.

- Sound judgement when handling sensitive student and family situations.
- An understanding of—or a strong ability to learn—the US undergraduate admissions process.
- The ability to provide constructive feedback without taking over a student’s work.
- Strong organisation and deadline-management skills.
- Intellectual curiosity, empathy, integrity and professional maturity.
- Comfort working independently while collaborating closely with a wider advising team.

There is no prescribed degree, academic specialisation or fixed experience requirement. Relevant experience may come from admissions advising, education, teaching, mentoring, counselling, writing, research, student services or another field demonstrating transferable ability.
