About the Role

Versatile IT Solutions looking for a Senior Android Developer who can own features end-to-end — from architecture decisions to shipping polished, performant code. You'll work closely with product, design, and backend teams to build and scale our Android app.

Responsibilities

· Design, build, and maintain advanced applications for the Android platform using Kotlin (and Java where relevant)

· Own the architecture of new features — from technical design docs to implementation and testing

· Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following MVVM/MVI and modern Android architecture patterns

· Collaborate with backend teams to define and consume REST/GraphQL APIs

· Optimize app performance, memory usage, and battery consumption

· Drive adoption of Jetpack Compose and modernize legacy XML-based UI where applicable

· Conduct code reviews and mentor mid-level/junior developers

· Ensure app quality through unit tests, UI tests (Espresso/Compose Testing), and CI/CD pipelines

· Debug production issues, monitor crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry), and drive fixes

· Contribute to release management, including Play Store deployments, staged rollouts, and app signing

· Should be able to guide team members technically

Required Skills & Experience

· 7+ years of hands-on Android development experience

· Strong proficiency in Kotlin; solid understanding of Java for legacy codebases

· Deep knowledge of Jetpack Compose, Android Jetpack libraries (ViewModel, LiveData/StateFlow, Room, Navigation, WorkManager, DataStore)

· Experience with coroutines & Flow for asynchronous programming





· Solid grasp of Android architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture)

· Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON parsing (Retrofit, Moshi/Gson)

· Experience with local storage (Room, SQLite)

· Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Jenkins, Fastlane)

· Experience with unit testing (JUnit, Mockito/MockK) and UI testing frameworks

· Understanding of Android performance profiling tools (Android Profiler, LeakCanary)

· Experience publishing and maintaining apps on the Google Play Store & Apple Store

· Strong understanding of Material Design guidelines and responsive UI across device sizes

· Experience in iOS native app development

Good to Have

· Experience with multi-module app architecture

· Exposure to Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP)

· Familiarity with Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Remote Config, Analytics)

· Experience with push notifications (FCM) and deep linking

· Knowledge of security best practices (encryption, secure storage, ProGuard/R8)

· Prior experience in a product-based startup or scaled consumer app

· Contributions to open-source Android libraries

Soft Skills

· Strong ownership mindset — comfortable driving a feature from idea to production

· Clear communicator, able to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders

· Collaborative approach to code reviews and mentoring

· Comfortable working in agile/scrum environments

Education

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering

Pay: ₹2,000,000.00 - ₹2,800,000.00 per year
